new at making decks. be gentle lol

2 suggestions...

Take about 12 monsters out.
Lose about 6 Traps.

That would get you down close to 42-43 cards which is much more managable...lol.

What is the purpose of this deck? Besides to win? Is there a theme you were going for?

Here's something to try, just removed excess stuff mostly. Your total is now 43, if you have Cyber Dragons I would try to get them in. A second Smashing Ground would be a good idea if you have it. Good luck with the deck.

These suggestions are looking good here. But one thing to ask Texas, what kind of style do you like to play, more aggressive or held back? Do you want a really big monster to hit hard, or are you happy with a small size monster doing a lot of jabs to your opponent? Based on the style you're comfortable with, I can suggest some cards out of this mix that will best suit you.

well i usually use the nimbles to make sure i keep my lp up in case i decide to go after them. id like a way to be able to atk and hit hard but. i guess sometimes im usually pretty reserved in it..but id like to make a deck that i can be more aggressive constantly..

I think the suggestions deepdark made is a good step along those lines for your tourney this weekend. For the future you may wish to try out a Skill Drain deck. It allows you to really hit hard and you can even keep your Momongas in the deck to keep your life points up.

Unfortunately I'm out for the day, so best of luck this weekend!

I'd have to go along with deepdark's suggestions too, bar one. I think starting out I'd be side decking Don Zaloog, unless not many in your area are playing Dark World....Don Zaloog might just cause you some severe headaches. I'd probably also side the Trap Hole for right now. That would bring you down to 41, very doable.

Just as important now is building your side deck. Let us know what seems to give you fits and we'll help you build an effective side deck.

They all kno what they are talkin about, Me? I could make suggestions if you look to make a fun deck, me and pat like that and are great at it, but until then go with them, I'd have to say use what u like, but keep it close to 40

<nodding> When you want an imaginative yet competitive deck give Patman and Chichiri-Sama a PM.....two of my favorite refreshing deck builders!

I'll help a bit.

tributes:20
1 Blowback Dragon (Well.. an okay tech, but I would put it as sidedeck and put more solid tribute monsters)

monsters non trib:
Mid Shield Gardna (It's just anti-NoC.... not sure if you want to run this.... probably a sidedeck, which that case, probably Big Shield Gardna is better.)

Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke (There's better options.... out. You don't specifically need light monsters anyway. You already have MSlv2)

Elemental Hero Wildheart (Out, I know it have a good effect, but there are better options)

Mask of Darkness (IMO out cause you don't have any key trap cards. Probably another decent sidedeck. I'll put Dekoichi instead)

Tsukuyomi (If your gunna use this card, you need ALOT more flip effects or pierce monsters. I'll say out until you add more flip effects that evens out.)

spells:15

Brain Control (A card to think about taking out or not IMO. Mainly cause you do have Treeborn Frog to help you with your tributes, and Graceful to dump excess dead cards from your hand.)

Scapegoat (IMO, run either SoRL or Scapegoat, not both, but that's just me)

Giant Trunade (Out. The only deck that needs this is OTK decks. Besides, you already have 2x Dust)

Soul Exchange (Definately out. You have Brain Control and Treeborn Frog. This is definately too much)

Swords of Revealing Light (IMO, run either SoRL or Scapegoat, not both, but that's just me)

Smashing Ground (add a 2nd)

traps:8

2 Dust Tornado (Think if adding this to sidedeck or not if you need more room to add stuff)
