this is so we can all have a chuckle and think back to the old days and realize how far weve all come.....

remember waaayyy back to when u just started playing the game....

share a mistake u made or a misconception or something funny about the way u used to play.

hahaha..true noobish playing of mine and my friends...playing with 8000 LP..no TRIBUTES..lol...played exactly like the duelist kingdom arc...duels were kinda short back then... :p

I really didn't make too many mistakes when I was a n00b (what do you mean "was" ??). I always followed the netrep rulings and starter deck rulebook as close as I could. What really defined my n00bishness was my first two decks: I started out with a janky Kaiba-based dragon deck, that actually pretty much pwned all of my opponents' decks, since they had even jankier decks. THen I moved on to the deck that, after more than a year of evolving, eventually became my small fiends deck. But it wasn't nearly so good. It had 3 necrofears, 3 Opticlops, 3 La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp, 3 Wall of Illusion, 3 Fissures, and 3 Trap Holes. A true n00b deck.

The only mistake I remember is the classic: YGO is a race, priority is not what determines who goes first, it's who's the fastest.

Typical noobness of my own doing would be misreading a cards effect and quickly running through it assuming that the effect did this or that. An example would be Torrential Tribute, I did not know at the time it didn't affect monster cards that were set face down.

I think for all players, including me, especially me, read the card and the rulings first before doing anything else.

Talk rubbish I do, yes, mmmm. I think a classic noob mistake for some people, and I understand this because Konami have done anything about it yet is to do with the card Ultimate Offering. I've had loads of complaints about this card saying that I cannot use it during their battle phase, once I get around that, their next argument is that the attack still goes through and finally the argument is that they can use it as well. The current description has never been errata'd yet we have link somewhere on this forum saying that the card can do all that as well as allow 500 for extra normal summons that can only be activated during the main phases of the controller of UO and during the opponents battle phase only.

True N00bish Moment:

WAY bak when, barely when MRD was released, I played at school one day. I asked to play the best duelist there! Then, he showed up and said, "Let's duel." Before we dueled, I asked him, "Can we use the 'Refill Hands' rule? Where we draw 5 cards whenever we have no cards in our hands?" He stared at me blankly and said"...no." I felt like a moron asking that. Haha, good times...:D

Hrm.. Noob mistake.. When I first got Lord of D. I thought he made Dragon's invincible I confinced myself it could stop Raigeki and Dark Hole. Also in the first Duel played like on TV didn't read Rulebook diidn't attack life and Started with 2000Lp. It took ages to finish a game.

Not listening to my instsincts and building the deck I wanted to make using the cards I wanted to use. That was my biggest "noob" mistake. I had a deck that I staye up late one night making only to take it to the shop and have some nimrod change out all my cards in my burn deck into some sort of Earth/Garvity Bind/Haybusa Knight garbage. I played one game with it, and realized that this was not the deck I wanted to run, whether it worked well or not. I wanted to run the deck I had personally invested time in. Not some Cokie Cutter contraption that didn't have an ounce of me in it. I'm amazed, knowing how I usualy am, that I even let him desleeve my cards and put in that garbage. Of course, the guy that did that apparently didn't have a clue what a burn deck was to begin with, because he couldn't understand why I had four star monsters in a Gravity Bind Deck. "Because I'm not going to attack." He looked at me all confused.

First "noob" mistake? Not realizing that even experienced players don't neccessarily know what the he** thier talking about.
