Heh, it's been a while since I last posted here. But, I come back with big news! The March 2008 Ban List was just released in Japan in the latest V-Jump Magazine last night. Here is the new Ban List for the OCG (which will more than likely be our new ban list).

Newly Banned: Magician of Faith, Breaker the Magical Warrior, Call of the Haunted
Newly Restricted: Raiza the Storm Monarch, Advanced Ritual Art, Monster Reborn, Nobleman of Crossout, Ojama Trio
Newly Semi-Restricted: Cyber Dragon, Necroface, Light and Darkness Dragon, Foolish Burial, Book of Moon, Mage Power, Magical Stone Excavation

Newly Unrestricted: Green Gadget, Red Gadget, Yellow Gadget, Jinzo, Apprentice Magician, Creature Swap, Reckless Greed

No disrespect, bit I seriously doubt if they'll release Monster Reborn. That's just nuts :D . The rest seems credible enough. Though I expect DMoC to get his ass banned:D . I wouldn't get your hopes up btw, the OCG and TCG bannlists have never been exactly the same. I don't really understand why they'd restrict Raiza. Sure he's a pain in the ass alright but basically he's still a 1-1 and we have plenty of ways to dispose of monarchs.

Is there any particular reason the scans are Cloverfield sized close-ups? Didn't anyone have GimpShop? :skull:
 
It's long been understood that the OCG banlist and TCG banlists have never really matched up a whole lot. This is because they have certain cards on the OCG game that we don't have here (Gors anyone?). Most of the time, the OCG banlist has only been a slight indication in the direction the TCG banlist may be heading, but only slight. Bottomline- we'll just have to wait until UDE releases the March list to find out. Still, Monster Reborn? Would be nice to reborn my opponent's Armed Dark Dragon or better yet, Darklord Zerato.
 
As long as we remember that NOTHING is official until it is on the Wannaduel.com site, and do not post any lists, speculation can be fun!

Personally, I would love to see Monster Reborn come back. It is kind of a "Oh, yeah? I can do that too" card. But I am also a big fan of Graverobber.
 
You can't Monster reborn DAD. (That's what Phantom of Darkness is for)

But you CAN Monster Reborn your foe's Disk Commander and gets it's effect. (or DMoC, if they run it.) Or at least your foe's Snipe Hunter.

Not a bad list with the exception of Monster Reborn. I do "see" all the changes to make Monster Reborn impact weaker. (MoF banned, CotH banned. And MoF being banned leads to NoC being back to 1x and Apprentice Magician back to 3x.) But still, it's FREAKING MONSTER REBORN?!?!?!?! And with Armageddon Knight.... yeah, REALLY STUPID.

I think it is an offcial list. Even Shriek and DmComet confirmed it.

+Monster Reborn (seriously, even MacroCosmos decks can use this card, it's that broken)
 
raiza i'm happy about... since if i recall correctly the new dark monarch will also be able to hit front or back row...
breaker i dont really get...maybe dark bribe @3? is enough? but so hard to get...
mof out and cyber valley @3 seems all right... slower but more versatile... helps other decks more than ddt/explosion type otk stuff...
i would rather ara was @3 and demise @1 so other rituals had some hope of being played...
the monster reborn is nice, cant use opponents turn like call, but with all the tribute-able tokens, that's not too big a deal - and i have already been using autonomous action unit to get opponents disc commander then remove for cyber valley to draw 4 total and rid opponent of disc...now they'll have to watch what they leave in gy a bit more - with snatch we had to watch what was on filed, so not too different... still juggling risk/reward...
the new set makes macro more runable as well as easier to side against...dont lke how hard it is to get some of the secrets tho'... and sold out to boot...we'll see - the game is in flux for sure... should be interesting i think... not too sure how competitive i'll be for a while - but fun none the le$$...
