This is my brother's deck and he's seeking advice on how to improve on an original concept.

Deck size: 40

Monsters: 37
3-Armed Ninja
3-Bubonic Vermin
3-Crimson Ninja
3-Hyena
3-Kuriboh
3-Magical Merchant
3-Nimble Momonga
3-Old Vindictive Magician
3-Outstanding Dog Marron
3-Spear Cretin
1-Spirit Reaper
3-Troop Dragon
3-The Unhappy Maiden

Trap Cards: 3
3-Blasting The Ruins

My own personal comment is you show me another deck where Magical Merchant is the linchpin. And therein lies the problem. As you may also see, no side deck. He was thinking D. D. Borderline, The Dark Door, something just to lessen attacks and buy some time. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated by my brotherman.

Pretty sure I can help a little.

+ as many Mask of Darkness as possible (don't remember whether they're restricted)
+ 3x A Feather of the Phoenix
+ Sangan

Also put in something against Royal Decree and Jinzo. You've got your 6 ninjas for this Royals, this should be enough, but I'd add Man-Eater Bugs.

+3x Man-Eater Bug

By the way, I don't think you've got to aim 40 cards. As you will need many cards in the graveyard, you can afford more.

Mask of Darkness is Semi-limited, and I would add Peten the Dark Clown instead of Troop Dragon (they are errated, they will only be summoned when destroyed by battle).

He's remade the deck. With some slight adjustments. Tell me what you think now.
