pay half your life points....

as of now there are two card that require you to pay half your life points; return from the differant dimension and solemn judgement. If my life points are 25 and i activate one of these two cards. do my life points become:

A)12
B)12.5
C)13
D)other (please explain)

There is no half a Life Point in this game.

That's all that needs to be said. If you activate Solemn Judgment at 1 LP, it's effectively a free activation, since you don't pay any Life Points (i.e. your Life Points remain at 1).

Solemn Judgment wouldn't end a sudden death Duel. Life Points won't go down to half, then rounded back to 1. It happens instantly, so the match can't be decided before rounding. You'll have to win the sudden death some other way (an attack or some other card effect that deals a specific amount of damage).

Although the odds of this situation ever arising is extremely unlikely.

so is round off= round up or round down?!?!?!?!

And since no one seemed to answer EFF's question:
"Round off" generaly means to round to the nearest whole number. Anything below.5 goes down anything .5 or higher goes up.

I would presume that YGO would be like most TCGs and round up. But would the game allow you to split a Life Point if its the only one left? Personally, I don't think so.

I think the points are continuous, just rounded. If you couldn't halve your Life Points from 1, there'd be some mention of it somewhere. And as far as I know, there isn't.

And you can't lose the toss with Jirai Gumo and activate Solemn Judgment to halve your Life Points twice to a quarter, and then thus have it rounded to zero. Rounding takes place immediately, because it's a game mechanic and not part of a chain.
