He dudes help me out here.

There are some guys they said en ill explain..that you cant remove and summon another peten I've you tribute peten for a Airknight Parshath..Because it's in the same main phase.??? is that so????

And also I've you do the effect of Cannon soldier it cant eather???

also they say it with your gracefull charity..The resolve of graceful is first??

I think you can special summon peten wen ever you want if he is destroyed and you remove him for another peten or not? help me out here because i am stuck..

Petin's effect is very tricky, and it's the wording that confuses people on how it can be played.

Yes, it is true that you can not remove Petin to use it's effect if you sack it to play any higher level monster, reason being that Petin's effect reads "You may remove", however, you can not interrupt the summoning of your monster, by removing Petin at that time, so it's as if you choose not to remove it at all. Petin's effect can only be activated as it is sent to the graveyard, so that's the reason behind why you can't remove it in the middle of a summon.

As far as Cannon Soldier, I'm not entirely sure if you can sack and not get the effect, but the same rule would apply if you couldn't. First part is the activation of Cannon Soldier's effect, which is the sacrifice of a monster, then the second part is the resolution of Soldier's effect, since the resolutioin can not be interrupted with another chain (Petin's effect) you can not remove Petin for it.

Now Graceful Charity I don't see why you can't remove. Now of course, maybe there is something else to it, but this one I really can't see.

Graceful's discard effect happens at the end of Graceful's resolution. Therefore you should be able to activate Petin's effect as it hits the graveyard, because it's not interrupting any other chain at that time. I believe your friends who are telling you that you can't use it with Graceful are wrong, but, as usual, I feel safer with a second opinion since I'm not always right, and no man ever is.

The issue with Peten the Dark Clown is that his effect is optional. As such in order to be able to take advantage of his special ability it must be done as the last part of the chain. In the instance where you tribute him to summon another monster, Peten is sent to the graveyard but then the last thing to occur is another monster is placed on the field. Similarly, you could not use his ability if it were tributed for say Cannon Soldier, since the last thing to occur there is that your opponent takes damage.

Now, if he were destroyed because of Torrential Tribute, then yes you could use his ability.

For more examples, I found this post originally on the ygonorthwest.com web site and Curtis Shultz providing the answer

I have a list of cards and I was wondering if they would work with
Peten The Dark Clown to get his effect off?

Graceful Charity - If I discard it with GC, will I be able to get
the effect?

Painful Choice - If I have it as one of the 5 cards, and it doesn't
get chosen, will I be able to get the effect?

Tribe Infecting Virus - If I use it for TIV's effect, well you get
it.

Raigeki Breaker - Same as Tribe.

Card Destruction, Morphing Jar - If it gets discarded, can I get the
effect?

Please give me some clarification on this, I seen some strange
rulings on it (like it being used for a tribute summon/effect) and
just wondering if these would work.

* The last action to occur MUST be Peten being sent to the Graveyard in order to receive his effect.

Hope this helps answer your question.

i cant find the edit button so i gues i'l double post

what we/I said whas that you cant remove peten
with a cost effect discard or with a tribute summon

in other words if it's not the last thing in the chain that happens (it= peten being send to the gravejard)

and again 1 of my posts gets deleted, i think Dualist Drummer is right and Ra-mon is far to egoistic and way to stupid.

Banning BeatdownBB only proves that, and banning me wasn't right to

Ra-Mon, HOW DID YOU BECOME A JUDGE, WHO DID YOU BRIBE, WHO DID YOU NEUK TO BECOME 1

EDIT****
I think you should post a clarification on YGO players

I'll say this once. And only once.

Such posts as above are not welcome here. This is not the Realms. This is not Pojo. This is not any other board. This is the Netrep board. You will treat people here with respect no matter their position (or lack thereof) or take it elsewhere. To do otherwise is to invite me to settle issues that I personally don't want to deal with. And my solutions to such issues are far worse than the original problem. We make no difference here between players, judges, netreps, or other staff. We are all here to enjoy the community and discuss whatever it is that enhances the game and learn more as the game matures.

Thank you for understanding and taking your personal issues elsewhere.
