i know that monsters such as Tribe can delcare "priority" before any other card on the field is played, but, Torrential Tribute can be played after Tribe has use the effect? i ask this because Empyre Staff posted an article on Netrep about Michizure. it said, "Michizure cannot be activated when a monster is sent to the Graveyard for a Tribute Summon since the last thing to happen included the monster summon" .

which brings me back to my point. can you play Torrential Tribute on the summoned Tribe-Infecting Virus even though the last thing to happen is Tribe using his effect by discarding card to destroy a monster type face-up on the field? :?

I had better answer this before Bishop goes into convulsions.

a monster does NOT have Priority. YOU have priority. You are not a Mega Thunderball.

Because of you having priority, Cost-Effect monsters that you control can be activated upon summoning.

This applied to Exiled Forces, Tribe Infecting Virus, CED and other cost-effect monsters. As to WHAT constitutes priority, all of us are anxiously awaiting for an article by Mr. Kevin Tewart himself about Priority.

Anyway, To answer your question, once TIV has been summoned and your opponent chooses to use his/her priority and activates its effect, priority pases to you to have a chance to respond to the summon/effect.

I'm not very articulate tonight but I hope that explains it somewhat. =)

Whoa... To make it just a little clearer.

The controller of TIV has priority to use his effect when summoned.

The opponent can then respond in a chain to TIV's effect with "Torrential Tribute" for instance.

So much for clarity.... lol

I'm not sure if this is in America yet, but you don't have to use the monster's effect. You can use a card such as Torrential Tribute with that priority instead.

I don't think it's here yet, but when Kevin Tewart gets around to writing up that article on priority, if that's how it is in Japan, it'll be like that here too.

They way you worded your response, you make it sound as if the controller of Tribe is also the controller of Torrential?  If that were the case, going on the assumption that it is their turn (Tribe's controller), even if they used Torrential Tribute intead, don't they have priority anyway when starting a chain??

Or, as a second possibility, if the cards are separately controlled, are you saying that because Tribe's Spell Speed 1 and Torrential is Spell Speed 2, Torrential would be able to activate first?

Do you Know what i find strange!!!

Why do you wanna have priority if your tribe is dead al ready thanks to the effect of Torrential Tribute..TT kills everything man..So also all of your opponents Monsters..

But yeah for the Knowing of it all..Tribe has a priority ..No i must say it diffrent, you have priority not the Card..

Because one of the monsters is equiped with this card:
RDS-JP011
SUPER SUPPORT, MECHA HEAVY WEAPON
Dark/Machine - Union/3/500/500
Once during your Main Phase, you can treat this card as an
Equipment card and Equip it on one of your face-up Machine Sub-
Type Monsters on the Field, or remove it from being an Equipped,
and return it in face-up attack mode. While this card is treated
as an Equipment card by this effect, increase the Equipped
Monster's attack and defense strengths by 500. (A Monster can
only have 1 Union Monster Equipped on it at a time. If the
Equipped Monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

Note that it does not say "wouild be destroyed in battle", just "would be destroyed".

That would be a break from other Union monster text and may have been mistranslated. The area in parentheses is just supposed to be a small section as to what a Union monster is/does.
