Couldn't find a direct answer, but in reference to Pyramid Turtle ((and of course similar ones)) is the effect applied to Controller or Owner? I know the Owner gets Sangan and Witch's effect but seeing as they're somewhat different I wasn't sure abuot this one

The owner of Pyramid Turtle gets the effect when it is destroyed as a result of battle.

FYI if an effect activates in the grave, like a searcher, the owner gets the effect.

The effects of both Pyramid Turtle and Book of Life are special summons. Special Summons, by definition, unless otherwise stated on a card, are either face up attack or face up defense postition.

well, with the exception of Cyber Jar, special summons cards in face down def...although it does tell you that on the card

As I said, unless otherwise stated. There are a number of cards that specify a battle position and either face up or face down. If a card effect doesn't specify it's safe to assume the special summon can be either face up attack or face up defense position.

yea, a great combo to use is Creature Swap, then attack your own Pyramid Turtle and since u dont leave the battle phase u can now attack with your new monster.

yeah it's what I've been doing but I've never been sure whether I was right or not because of so many people contesting my decision of "Owner vs Controller" matters

Don't be too sure.

Exiled Force is considered to be activated in the graveyard, but the Controller who manually activated the effect will control the effect.

As for Sangan, Witch of the Black Forest, Pyramid Turtle, etc. are graveyard triggers, so the owner would get the effect.
