i was reading an article about raiser being better than zaborg. in my humble opion, i think zaborg is better. because i belive Destruction>Disrupt. yes raizer does return a card on the feild, and thats great if its a tribute monster, but what if its just a troop or sangan? next turn, the set it again. yes it did mess up thier draw, but thats it. zaborg has a knack for blowing up sangan and troopers. but what if zaborg is summoned and the opppenet rings his only monster, raizer goes back to the top, messing you up for at least 2 draws. zaborg has been time-tested, while raiser has yet to be. so, in my opinion, the rank is as follows

Zaborg>Mobious>Thestalos>Granmarg (granmarg is the least powerfull in my opion)

trust me. granmarg is the most deadly underestimated monarch in the game. why?

1. Megarock fuel
2. variable effect
3. can be a dark world lightning, w/ a beatstick.
4. hes a monarch.
5. hes a random yet great topdeck early or late game.

Wrong. The MOMENT it's summoned, you must target somethign. And then if your foe responds by taking out whatever the targetted card, it doesn't "re-target", it just missed it's target. It doesn't re-select a target if it misses. So no, if your foe had only Ring and a face-up monster, and you summon Raiza, you select a foe's mosnter, and your foe ring their only monster, Raiza DOESN'T re-target, it just missed it's target.

This is because you cannot "chain" to a summon. You activate an effect in RESPONSE to an effect of the monster. (in this case, Raiza's effect) So it already target and selected, if it misses, it misses. Counter Trap that negates the summon is being activated to a response to a summon. Even that's not being "chained" to a summon BTW.

I saw Raiza in action and it was really annoying. To be drawing same card again is no fun. Especially when you need it dead (like Sangan) or you need it on field (for tribute). I would say that Raiza really is top monarch, if played well.

Raiza is by far the best monarch. Once you play it enough you will be sure to find some of the fantastic combos it can create. I will give you one for free just don't spread it around, Conscription.

If you really sit back and think about it, that kind of disruption is just brutal. Think of what most people play nowadays and how it can really punish folks for playing those cards. They Premature Burial or Call of the Haunted a 5+ star Monster and you use Raiza on the Monster. They just lost their recursion card, the Monster's now on top of they're deck making itself almost useless, and they now have a dead draw. The fact that it can bounce ANY one card is just way too versatile to ignore.

The Conscription idea is pretty cool. I can see some people at least siding some if they use Raiza in the main deck. Don't forget how well it works with Mind Crush, Drop Off, Don Zaloog, etc.

I've tested Raiza very well, and it definetely excels where the other Monarchs don't. Regardless though all monarchs are outstanding (reason for them to 90 - 100% of the time they top 8).

Raiza has many factors to it's advantage, it manipulates extremely well field and hand. Sending a card to the top of your opponent's deck just took his/her draw away, took his/her hand fuel away, restricted his/her strategy to one more turn (delayed hugely), sending a high leveled monster to the top is devastating it takes away practically 2 turns from your opponent, it lays open for amazing combos.
