RDS-EN034 Homunculs the Alchemic Being

Ok, let's talk about Homunculus, shall we? I'm trying to figure out how this card can be useful.

Solid stats at 1800 ATK and 1600 DEF. Above average numbers there.

He's a Light monster which is good for Chaos food.

He's a Plant-Type, of which there seems to be little to no support.

What about his effect? "You can change the Attribute of this monster. This effect can only be used once per turn."

There's gotta be something I'm missing. There has to be some way that this card can be absolutely abused in a deck that supports it. But what exactly would that be? Can anyone offer any suggestions?

The first thing that comes to mind is with cards that gain boosts by having other cards of that type on the field. For instance, Goblin King who gets 1000 ATK points for every Fiend, Dragon's Gunfire which requires a Dragon be on the field, Soul Absorbing Bone Tower which can't be attacked if there is another Zombie on the field (and others like it that create a lock), just to name a few. But those cards are better served in a deck that features only those Type of cards, right?

I've pulled a bunch of these. Is there a way to use it or is this just toilet paper?

He doesn't change his monster Type, he changes his monster Attribute, ie. Light, Wind, Fire, etc...

So he's good when used with other cards that get a boost from having a Fire monster on the field, or a Wind monster on the field, like the new 'Element' monster cards from SOD and RDS.

Ok, so he changes his attribute and that benefits the Element monsters. Is there nothing else this guy can do?

He can allow for the activation of 'Fuh-Rin-Ka-Zan', which has some pretty good effects.

And he can mesh into any decks built around a specific attribute type.
He can be used in conjuntcion with 'Harpie Lady 1' and become a 2100 beatstick, which was how he was most abused at the RDS Preview event.

You have to put Fairy King in DEF mode to activate its power-up effect, so Umiiruka might be a bad idea. I use ALO.

I made a plant deck around Fuh-Rin-Ka-Zan and the Homoculus. It got annoying because there are no FIRE or WIND Plants. I mostly use WATER Plants, but also Vampire Orchis and Des Dendle. As for my FIRE & WIND problem, I got two 4* monsters of each type, one with the highest ATK, one with the highest DEF and wished myself the best of luck.

i have this card in my deck. he is useful with element dragon, which allows it to gain 500 attack points.
