Replay

A replay occurs when the number of monsters on the field changes correct? Someone with knowledge please answer this.

Example: I attack a beserk gorilla with kycoo. They choose not to respond, I then respond by activating Call of the Haunted special summoning Jinzo to the field. They choose not to respond.

Does that strike a replay and allow me to choose which monster I want to attack with or does Kycoo run into gorilla?

"I attack"

When "you" are attacking, the person on the opposite side of the table (your opponent) is the defender.

Since "you" summoned a monster Replay will not occur because "you" are the attacking player not the defending player.

My example is posted, and who is the defending player?

In this scenario, no replay would occur since YOU are the attacking player and your opponent is the defending player. In this scenario, your "Kycoo" will be destroyed as a result of battle with your opponent's "Berserk Gorilla". You can then attack with "Jinzo" to get rid of the "Gorilla" if you choose to do so.

ok it is said that when the number of monsters on the defending players side of the field changes then a replay occurs in battle.......

so if
player A is the attacking player with Berserk
player B has kycoo

player A attacks
player B allows

guess what? player B's (defending player) number of monsters on the defending players side of the field changes

but no replay occurs....

just thought it was interesting to share.....

LOL! the battle that never ends, huh? Get over here, you knucklehead!
*gives mikoal a noogie*

However, I think we all know it doesnt work that way. Once the damage calculations are entered, there is no take back. (well, maybe Kiseitai)

Think of it like this:

Berserk Gorilla rushes forward to beat on Kycoo. Suddenly there is someone else seen out of the corner of Gorilla's eye. "Wha? Huh? Wait a minute, hold on. where did she come from?" *Gorilla points to a CotH'd Mind on Air card.

"Oh", says Gorilla. "Well, Im not worried about you. Now, which of you 2 wants a piece of this first?"

(Replay has occurred, Gorilla attacks)

In the other scenario, Gorilla gets backed up by an Enraged Battle Ox on his own side of the field. However, since Gorilla never sees the Ox, he charges ahead, completes the battle, and as he's dusting his hands off and returning to his corner, Gorilla looks up and says," Ox! Where'd you come from? I thought that guy I pounded got an extra dose of fear in his eyes."

Both Ox and Gorilla have a good laugh and wait for the next victim.

better?

haha yea yea its all good
very graphic :D haha awesome viewpoint too

but yea i just wanted to point out what if some ppl thought that
thanks though squid

Actualy Kiseitai never allows the attack to reach Damage Calculation. However the attack does reach the Damage Step

But since it is the Damage Step, this is the reason no replay occurs when a monster is destroyed by an attack. A monster destroy in the Damage Step, even by an effect, will not trigger a replay. The Damage Step is the point of no return.
