I have Royal Oppression active on my side of the field

My opponent tries to summon BLS-EOTB from hand. Can I pay 800 life points to negate the summon, and if so, does BLS return to hand or go to the graveyard?

Ok, I realize it would go to the graveyard after reading the autolinking. But can I do this?

Yes, Royal Oppression will negate and destroy BLS-Eot-B since it is a special summon, albeit a very expensive one.
