rules on reckless greed

today i was playing someone in a tournament, and i had one card in my deck left, so i activate reckless greed and my opponent said that i lose because i deck out. i believe that rules state if i can't draw during my draw step i lose, so decking in my main phase is ok. others say i cant even activate reckless greed.

your opinion.

do i deck out, can i even activate reckless greed. or was that a bad call.

i need a judges help here

If you can't draw cards you lose (so you lost).

When you say deck out, do you mean did not have enough cards to draw 2 from Reckless Greed's effect? If that is the case, you would lose; however, if you meant that you just ran out of cards (you had 2 cards left, and Reckless Greed made you draw them), you would not lose until required to draw (NOTE: Cyber Jar and similar cards that say pick up, rather than draw, would not result in a loss, because you are not drawing when you have no cards left in your deck, just picking up cards.) by another card effect or the next Draw Phase that you can actually draw in. You do not lose from drawing until you have no cards left in your Deck and are required to draw more.

EDIT: Oh, you said you only had 1 card left. I didn't read the whole post. =P

This is a very simple qeustion.
Reckless greed says that you draw 2 cards then you skip your next (2) draw phases, so if you draw 2 and then right after you draw 2 you have no cards left in your deck you still get to play on for 2 turn, for that the rule book says if you (can't draw any cards for the fact that you have no cards in your deck then you lose.)

So the only way you can lose is if you get to the third turn after the reckless greed and you have to draw for your turn.

Note: But if you are not smart and you play reckless greed when their is only one card in your deck then, yes you lose.

I thought you can't force your self to loose, thus your are not allowed to activate FR if you end up loosing the game. Same as you can't pay lifepoint cost if your lifepoint will reach 0.

I thought you can't force your self to loose, thus your are not allowed to activate FR if you end up loosing the game. Same as you can't pay lifepoint cost if your lifepoint will reach 0.

You can make your self lose any time you want to.
however if you have a card that requirs cost, such as Imperial order then no you have to send Imp to the grave if you have 699lp or lower.  For that Imp says that you can not keep this on the field if you cannot pay for it.
