Sakuretsu Armor DCR-102

Sakuretsu Armor
Normal Trap

You can only activate this card when your opponent declares an attack. Destroy the attacking monster.

A "Mirror Force" of 1 so to speak (though this would destroy a defense position "Total Defense Shogun" while "Mirror Force" wouldn't). A nice 1 for 1 card exchange more in your favor for getting rid of one of your opponent's monsters. Since it's not restricted either, you can stock up on them in your deck (say in place of "Magic Cylinder" if you feel destroying the monster is more important than inflicting damage).

The only thing about this card is that it doesn't negate the attack. In most cases that won't matter since if the monster is destroyed and taken off the field, there's no longer an attack to go through. However, if the monster is equipped with "Heavy Mech Support Platform", that will save it from being completely destroyed (the HMSP is instead), and the attack continues through.

All and all though it's a good solid Battle Protector for you.

Ah, Sakuretsu Armor. A staple in the advance format. Its great even it does have a little loophole that machine monsters can get past with Heavy mech. I too would prefer this card to magical cyclinders. I want the threat removed from the field, not just stopped.

The artwork is pretty cool. A Dai Grepher that has been almost completed changed by 'Falling Down' on a rampage against warriors that were once his allies. That armor he's sportin' sure does the trick.

I agree that Sakuretsu Armor is a new staple. In the past, Trap Hole was so nice and pretty until a large number of monsters started being special summoned, rendering Trap Hole useless. Now, even the mighty Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning falls prey to the armor even against the miniscule Mokey Mokey

I run one of these in my deck because... well... I used to have WAY to many monsters. I used to have too many monsters because there weren't that many magic/trap cards I really like. But when I just couldn't stand monstly monster hands I had to make some sacrifices and use some cards I didin't like much.

I took out one of my 3 Command Knights, one of my 3 Mysterious Guards, 1 of my two Reinforcment of the Army, and all 3 Wabokus

I didn't have have enough destruction either, the only non-monster destruction I had was Torrential Tribute.

I hate running as many traps as I do now... I put in a Sakuretsu Armor and a Ring of Destruction; two cards I don't Like using. I don't like Ring because you can't always use it... I don't like sakuretsu because it can be destroyed without you being able to chain it...

Anyway, they seem to have made an improvment, I havn't been playing my re-vamped Warrior deck long enough to know. But I am glad I've gone to the next level, It's been way too long since I've re-vamped my deck.

Anyway, Sakuretsu is a great card. Especially when protecting those face down Mysterious Guards and face up Magical Scientists. When I activate it, I always say "I activate my Mini-Mirror Force", that's always fun. It's one of those amazing common cards that you think should/could have been made more rare.

P.S. the other 4 cards I added in were 1 Nobleman of Crossout (I dislike this card because it's situational), Swords of Revealing Light (I dislike using this card because I feel that I could be drawing a game winner instead of an opponent staller), 1 Magic Drain (YAY, I finally got around to putting one of these in my deck:), and Creature Swap (I hate getting this when I have nothing to swap, I hate getting this when my opponent has to many monsters for me to use it, I hate it more then anything when the only two cards I have is a D.D. Warrior Lady and a Creature Swap)

Yeah, trap hole has been retired pretty much. People will avoid it if they can. The only way I see it better than Sakuretsu armor that it won't be stop by those monsters that prevent traps from being activiated during the battle phase. Course Trap hole won't work after summoning if the monster that's being summoned stops traps from activiating right after it summons itself.

Sakuretsu got a little ding when Pitch-Black Warwolf and Mirage Dragon were released.

However, it's still an excellent card. Non-chainable, I'd pick Armor over Waboku or Bottomless Trap Hole because:
* Waboku won't kill the attacking monster.
* BTH can be good, but you never know when they're done bringing out their nastiest stuff. I'd hate to BTH an Airknight just to have them bring out BLS once they see what your set Trap was.
* When its time to activate Armor, you have a clear view of what's on their side of the field and what they're going to bring against you. Then you use it against the worst threat.

I have been a big fan of sakuretsu for a while. I often used that along with a bottomless traphole or two (or three.) I recently switched to running Rageiki break. It has the cost associated with it, but it can chain if my opponent tries to destroy it, plus it can serve as extra magic or trap removal, so it is versatile. I am not sure I am happy with how my deck has been running since I made this decision. Any thoughts?

I wouldnt neceserraly consider sakuretsu armor a staple since 1. it takes 1 turn to activate.
2. jinzo / mirage dragon / Pitch black war wolf all stop this.
3. Not a good top deck if all your opponent has on the field is a bunch of monsters and your set to your last turn. Then again alot of cards arnt good insituations like these except for of course Needle cealing.

Its an Okay card, but i wouldnt put all my faith into just this one card. there are better stuff out there.

I wouldnt use more than one, because the card has semi-horrible topdeck potential but decent opening hand potential
