Self-Destruct Button IOC-105

Trap Card
Text: You can only activate this card when your Life Points are lower than your opponent's Life Points and the difference is 7000 points or more. Both player's Life Points become 0.

First of all, you aren't going to win any games basing a deck on this card o_O;
Second of all, this proves that judge wrong when he said there were no draws in Yu-Gi-Oh

This card is for a last resort. If you're horribly losing, activate this card to save the duel (or at least, not let your opponent get the win) the 7000 difference in life points needed may be hard to get. In a normal duel, you're opponent can't lose more than 999 life points (though I think that would be 990, I can't think of any cards that don't have attack points that are multiples of 10)

What this card would be good for, is people who increase their life points to insane amounts (Solemn Wishes?) and wait for their opponent to deck out, or use the high life points to help them when the match time runs out (in a timed match)
Thus turning a match that you might deck out before you can even bring your opponent's life points close to a normal amount into a draw

A combo for this would be to use Wall of Revealing Light to put up a 7000 lp wall to then activate the button... but Last Turn/Jowgen the Spiritualist would be better for that, right?

Situational, I give it a 3/5. Good consideration for side decks

Just want to point out something here. It is possible for a game to end in a draw...but in an official Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament, a match can not end in a draw (well, there are really weird situations but we won't go into those).

A common misconception is that all matches are best two out of three, but this is not always the case. A match is not over until one person has two wins.

I've seen this card work well with Last Turn decks...always nice to have a Plan B.

*has flashback of Self-Destruct Button deck at Columbus SJC*

I have seen this card work EXCEEDINGLY well in a Last Turn deck. When you look at the odds of having 2 copies of Last Turn and 3 copies of Self-Destruct Button along with Morphing Jar, Cyber Jar, and Cat of Ill Omen your odds of getting one or the other along with a Wall of Revealing Light on the 1st or 2nd turn are huge....that either means a likely Jowegen or Self Destruct Button combo. Either a win or a restart.

There is the mental aspect of Self-Destruct Button as well. After about the 3-4th time you've restarted the game after a draw and STILL are going first you begin to wear on your opponent's nerves and they make desperation moves that aren't always so wise leaving the door open.

I dont think that id side-deck this ever, but i do want to say that its a pretty sweet card. and a good idea at that.
I also think that Ring of Destruction could cause a draw or two. However, Self Destruct Button was ruined for me when i saw how much more the japanese art pwned... *le sigh*

EDIT: 700th post... woot.

So what did the japanese art look like anyways?

I guess its not really the art change, (which there was none, i was wrong) but in Japanese, it was called "Don't Press that Button!"...
