Just a heads up....there were 7 players added to the list of players banned from play at UDE sanctioned tournaments. If you're a judge please take note.

7 names? Where these all added at once from a single event, or are they cumulative form several events.?

Hold up, Brent Yetter as in the really famous dude. (I think he won 1 SJC)

I also heard of other people's name in there like Robert Morgan, Calvin Tsang (Didn't he win the Canada's Nationals?) Roy St. Clair in Metagames and stuff...

There may or may not have been an incident that may or may not have happened locally that I thought for sure may or may not possibly end in a ban, but it didn't; and we aren't supposed to talk about it, so I don't....ever....with anybody. 0:D

Anyway, these guys are all listed on MANTIS, right? But I noticed that one guy (form here; banned 'til next year) has about 7 UDE numbers. Is that how they get in? I mean, does MANTIS not have a cross check for certain names to flag people as a warning to TOs to double check their identity (note the guy banned for ID theft)? hey, I was flagged at the airport because my name was similar to a TSA suspect.

I'm sorry, I didn't know we had one. I will be more than happy to Copy/Paste. Or a mod could move it there (gee, now I feel like I'm just spamming)-- I'm sorry.

If it helps any, in my version of Mantis (which is probably old by now) You can look up the Name or the number, but it only shows exact matches, not names that come close. Of course, you could always make them show their ID when they register, but that may or may not be going to far. Even then, they still make mistakes.

I registered on the mall tour, and with all the people there, you KNOW someone's going to screw up. They got the last two letters in my name screwed up, so my UDE# is registered to a Justin Comedy (Yes, it may be comedy, but it's not funny. Bad pun intended.) The chances of them catching a multiple # user is probably pretty slim.

Um..hellooooo. We don't have a Mantis area. The UDE Forums has the Mantis area Zaph...duh!....lol.

Btw folks...DarkLogician/Zaph/Paul is a friend of mine. I'm just razzing him. Don't think I'm being mean to him...please.

Seems to be a pretty distinct pattern developing here. Most of the people who are getting Suspended are either Champs or consistant Top 8 players. Could it be that our "winners" aren't doing it the old fashion way anymore, or that "some" never have?

Anyway, Yetter (SJC - Chicago Winner) showed up at my Regional this past weekend. The guy is just plain obnoxious. This situation about the "Final Cut" needs to be addressed. I grew very weary of hearing that they "did it at Nationals", and having to explain to him that you arent doing it here.

I did the same double take of the "Final Cut" issue at the Chicago SJC. I later learned that there was a judge's post supporting this....

I was a little shocked to see this as it isn't mentioned in the policy statements. The issue is under review at the time being.
Did you happen to see Charsky's reply to my question on the Judge List?

It seems that as long as you can support your reasoning, it is optional as long as the announcement is made prior to the start of the Tourney, to all players, since it isnt in the Tournament Policy.

Personally, with all the cheating going on today, it is completely unreasonable to expect that "only one player" knows how to stack their Deck. What is to Stop the Deck Owner from abusing the Final Cut as well?

I think, even though it is a slow process, that the single pile shuffle should be used, where your opponent can see each card, rather than a grouping of cards being "placed" into the Deck by a so-called "shuffle". This emliminates the possibility of cards being stacked, as you can see where your opponent is placing the cards, and if there appears to be a less random design, then a Judge can be called to verify the Deck.

Care to share what it said for the rest of us (since that link was on the L3 list...) :)

And dang nabbit the Quick-Post is broken for me now... (#&$(&@

masterwoo0 summed up what was said in that post pretty well in his post.
