Serial Spell + Monster Reincarnation = ?

As the title says, how would that work? How many cards would need to be discarded? I'm really confuzed and not really good with figuring out things lol! ThanX for the help!

You would discard one card for the cost of Monster Reincarnation. Then, Serial Spell would discard all cards left in your hand. You wouldn't discard a card for the copied effect of Monster Reincarnation because Serial Spell doesn't copy costs. You would have to have at least two cards other than Serial Spell and Monster Reincarnation in your hand to use this combo.

It's my turn. I have a Serial Spell, Monster Reincarnation, Gemini Elf and Dark Magician in my hand. I want to return my Newdoria and Mystic Tomato from my Graveyard to my hand.

I play Monster Reincarnation, discarding my Dark Magician to satisfy the cost of Monster Reincarnation. I chain Serial Spell and discard the remainder of my hand (in this case Gemini Elf) because of Serial Spell's requirement. Newdoria and Mystic Tomato then come back to my hand.
