Shrink vs Megamorph

What happens when you play Shrink on a monster equipped with Megamorph?

Example:
Doom Dozer is equipped with Megamorph (player with Megamorph has less LP than the other player) so he has 5600 ATK.

During the damage step Shrink is activated on him, what would be his ATK?

I think that since Shrink doubles the original ATK and megamorph halves it, they counter each other thus leaving Doom Dozer with 2800 ATK.

Another person believes that you must reduce the 1400 from shrink from the 5600 leaving Doom Dozer with 4200.

Which of us is right, or is there some other answer?

Similar to Satellite Cannon, Original Atk = 0, Megamorph has no effect.
Right, but it does. And that's the problem. The ruling says the effect of Chaos Necromancer is overruled by Megamorph (thus the ATK is 0), but Chaos Necromancer's effect should apply AFTER Megamorph so it shouldn't be overruled. Megamorph should have no effect while equipped, and yet it does (it sets the ATK to 0).

Again, I think we're trying to rationalize the rulings without regard for the card intention. Remember when Kevin posted the revised Original ATK rulings awhile back, and he mentioned how Inferno Fire Blast was the one oddball ruling at the time. Because the original intention of the card was to inflict 2400 points of damage, it didn't make sense with the then logic and they were looking to get an errata.

It's not the greatest, or most consistent reasoning to go by, but it unfortunaltly explains a lot. Right now the most consistent ruling I see is that Megamorph does not redefine the Original ATK, but build or take away based on it. Same for Shrink. Internal or external modifiers that have nothing to do with Original ATK should just start from there. Chaos Necromancer may just be another odd ruling that needs to be taken off the books.

I don't know, like I said, 2 "Megamorph"s from each player to a monster in my mind creates a loop XD.

P.S. DJ, what's with the baby XD?! Bring the girl back!

The last Megamorph equipped should have precedence if they are controlled by opposing players. Then, when a change occurs that affects the life point total that is of a significant amount, it will cause that last equipped Megamorph to recalculate.

Makes sense, espicially if you think about double "Snatch Steal".

Here I thought "Megamorph" constantly reapplied, but it doesn't! It only constantly "checks" the lp count to spring, well that changes quite a bit for my understanding.

If a "Cyber End Dragon" equipped with "Megamorph" attacks and "Shrink" is activated during the Damage Step, then it takes its Original attack, 4000, and halves it to 2000 ATK. If your opponent heals enough LP, it's attack might be reapplied after when the LP is gained to be 8000 again. Is this the correct way of thinking?
