Six Samarai vs. Sakuretsu

Say I have two Six Samarai on the field. Attack with one and opponent activates Sakuretsu Armor. Using the effect of the attacking face up Six Samarai, I decide to destroy the other face up Six Samarai monster.

The QUESTION is....Does the attack still go through?

What makes you think you can activate their effects in the Battle Phase?

And moreover, they can't attack if they use their effects. I'm not sure what you're asking here.

If their abilities can go off during the battle phase, then I would be inclined to say yes as sakuretsu Armor doesn't negate the attack. However, as Jathro said, the ability probably can't be used during the battle phase (unless it's like Strike Ninja's).

Anyways, someone want to give a diffinitive answer on legal trigger times for the Samuria's substitute destruction abilities?

I should have been more specific. Yaichi and Kamon can only activate their effects during your Main Phase. Obviously because Zanji and Irou destroy monsters they battle with, their effects activate in the Battle Phase.

Ah, misinterpretation on both sides. Yeah, the thing was the issue with the timing on the Samuria's secondary ability of "If this Samuria would be destroyed, instead destroy another Samuria you control." So if this ability triggers like Strike Ninja's does, the attack will hit.

Yes, if you use the "redirected destroy" effect, the monster that was attacking will still have the attack go through. (This effect can even be used in the damage step if one was destroyed as a result of battle).

Keep in mind though if this was Mirror Force instead of Sakuretsu Armor, since all of them would be targeted for destruction, you couldn't redirect any of them (unless there was a 6 Samurai in defense position).

The official rulings already answer your question. Check the second ruling under all of the Six Samurai monster cards.

Mirror Force doesn't target.

Mirror Force doesn't target.
It was probably a poor choice of words, but I believe he was using it as a more descriptive term, than a actual Game Term. If I have 4 face-up attack position monsters when Mirror Force goes off, those monsters will most likely be "earmarked" as destroyed, unless something prevents them from remaining face-up or in attack position.
