Sinister Control
Vehicroid Connection Zone VS Skill Drain

for Jumobo Drill, what happens? does the spell of VCZ linger and proects the Jumbo drill ? or does skill drain negate it??

Skill drain

in respsonse to mobuis, when you activate it responding to mobius's effect, it will negate it as long as mobius remains faceup on the field is that correct?

Now this is a new one here.... I believe this would apply in a similar manner as Elemental Hero Wildheart vs. Skill Drain in that it depends on what is activated first.

If Skill Drain is already in play, then VCZ's ability to allow effects will not happen.

If VCZ is already active, then Skill Drain can be activated, but Jumbo Drill will not be affected by the trap.

Can anybody back/correct me on this?

You are correct...if Skill Drain is active before VCZ is active, then Jumbo Drill would not have it's effect or protection. It's similar to Jinzo vs. Skill Drain. If Skill Drain is active before Jinzo is summoned, then Jinzo loses it's effect. It's all dependent on which was active first.

Actually, "Skill Drain" will not be able to negate the effects of a "Vehicroid" monster brought out by the effect of "Vehicroid Connection Zone".

It doesn't matter what order things are activated in. The monster is protected by the effect of "VCZ", which "Skill Drain" can do nothing about.

I do so love answering the exact same question on multiple sites all in the same day....*sigh*....

Hmm, that does make more sense since the monster is coming to the field, it has all the protection it needs with it. It kind of has it's own little bubble around it that Skill Drain can't pierce. Interesting indeed. Thanks for the info Simon!

The monster basically comes into play with that 'bubble' on it. The monster is brought to the field via the effect of "VCZ". As part of the resolution of "VCZ", it places that 'bubble' on that monster. Then, after "VCZ" has resolved, "Skill Drain" sees there is a face-up Effect Monster and tries to negate it, but the 'bubble' prevents that.

Well, then there is no bubble. Manju's effect will be negated. It resolves normally:

Chain Link 1: Manju
Chain Link 2: Skill Drain
<resolve>
Chain Link 2: Skill Drain resolves, and is now active.
Chain Link 1: Manju tries to resolve, but he is still face-up on the field. Skill Drain negates his effect.
