Small Fiends

Basically, this deck assaults you with the might of 1500 or less attack points, then brings out a heavy hitter to end it. Draw power is also key. Looking to build a sidedeck.
Oh, and why is my auto link not working?

The Auto Linking is a check box down in the Additional Options...make sure that it is unchecked for the Auto Linking to work----

As for the deck try dropping a Soul Exchange for a Book of Moon, and try out a Dark Mimic LV3 instead LV1(just my personal preference)--Also you might consider dropping the Mystic LV2 for a Wall of Illusion---that card can really surprise your opponent--the def is high enough to survive a D. D. Assailant atk, same for the 1800's mons---

I know, that's what confounds me. See, I checked twice (no pun intended) and the box isn't checked?!?!
Mystic Swordsman is staying, because I often play Last Will, sac a monster for Jinzo/Hades/Mefist, then use Last Will to summon Swordsman. I kill their face down monster, then go in for a huge direct attack.
I will not replace DMLV1 with LV3, because of Tsuki. However, if I can get a LV3, I might add it in, I just won't take LV1 out.
Book, although it goes against my principles of anti-cc, I would try... If I had one.
Thanks, I really appreciate the help.

Hey pssvr. I don't quite follow the deck. Are the lowballers supposed to serve as Necrofood, or is it kind of a diversion for the heavy hitters? I count 9 "heavy hitters" and 10 "low balllers" in the monster count, which is granting "attack power" to Cyber Jar and Winged Minion, which I doubt you're using them for.

Can you help me see this deck better? What kind of combos are you pulling off with it? Have you thought about staying low ball and going with a Goblin King assault?

Tried Goblin King, it didn't work for me. Well, trying to explain the deck: Fluency. See, I have this thought that there is a card for every situation, and all you have to do is get it at the right time. Hence, I am a HUGE fan of Last Will, the most powerful searcher in the game. I also like draw power, i.e. the mimics and both cyber monsters. Between the two, draw and search, I am able to "manipulate" the duel, maintaining total control until Necrofear or a 5+ star monster can murder them. So yes, the weenies are necrofood, but they are also there to maintain control until a heavy hitter can end it. This is why I don't like Goblin King or Giant Germ: One is necrofood, the other is strength, but they just can't manipulate anything, at least not like Newdoria, Sangan, tomato, Last Will, and teh cyber monsters.

You will find, in time, that I have a very unique playing style. My three favorite monster types are, in this order: fiends, zombies, warriors. This is because of: Sangan/Cyber Archfiend, Pyramid Turtle/Book of Life, Reinforcement of the Army/The Warrior Returning Alive. Like I said, searching, drawing, manipulating, it's all key to me. Note that the strongest monsters of each type (Newdoria, Spirit Reaper, Don Zaloog/mataza) are all "Last Will-able". You will see me play a LOT of Last Wills.

Oh, I'm all for Last Will. I run quite a few of them in my own decks 8^D With that in mind, I'm a little worried you'll come up against a Reaper or something that you can put the Last Will into motion. Have you considered maybe an Alter for Tribute to help with that? That way you get some LP, you get the Last Will to trigger and you can get your fiend you need. I like the idea.

Altar for Tribute? You mean like Mystic Wok? :D Well, that is a thought. Normally, however, I use Last Will when I'm suiciding, not when a card requires a tribute. And I think I have enough reaper punishment with mefist, Enemy Controller, a pair of R. breaks, etc. But I will definetely consider it. Honestly, though, if I wanted a card that let me tribute a monster, I'd opt for Enemy Controller or metamorhposis, as those allow for more manipulation.

One other idea, considering the theme of things now, is throw in a Byser Shock to the mix. This is a nice Last Willable monster that will flush out your opponents set cards, including a potential monster on the field. I've made some nice Byser/Puppet Magic/Mefist Combos to make my opponent squirm.

Fiendishly: I personally consider Dark Jeroid to be a dumb card. Once you lower their monster's attack, aren't you IMMEDIATELY going to kill it? And, if so, why not use Winged Minion? I mean, if they have Berserk Gorilla, and I have Slate Warrior, which is better, jeroid, or minion?

Well, if Jeroid is dumb, Winged Minion is registering no brain activity at all. Which would you rather have: A combo-able monster that can lower an opponets atk by 800 at LEAST once or a 700 atk monster that's USELESS unless you have another fiend type on the field? You're also assuming that one boost would be enough. 200 or 300 ATK could make a big difference. Whether you like it or not, no deck is always going to have a monster on the field.

Also, props to Dillie-O. I totally forgot about Byser Shock. What would you think about adding Swords of Concealing Light to the combo? You might as well get rid of all the cards you can.

As for Byser Shock, you can get them in the Dark Revelations release as well as PGD. Granted both are graded Ultra Rare, but who knows. It took me a while to get mine but it was worth it.

Ebay is doing some decent prices on some Bysers if you can run it through there. I haven't been over to the trade thread as of yet to check. As for what to pull to put a Byser in here, I'd say ditch the Mimic LV1. With all the searching you have going, the drawing shouldn't be an issue. You can still suicide the LV3 if needs be.

I wouldn't be so quick to knock Jeroid, granted I see it more useful in this deck given its theme, but I seem to be torn between the two and often get more stability from Jeroid than I do the minion. If I Last Will or Tomato in a Jeroid from battle, I can use its effect immediately. I can't do that with Minion.

EDIT: I dont' know if SOCL is necessary here. Though it combos well, I don't think it goes with the overall theme. If you hit SOCL, then you're looking into a new deck theme which is equally fiendish based on keep your opponents cards literally "in the dark" 8^D

I like to use it to sometimes be combo friendly. Let's say up I'm against a Mystic LV2 and a Mobius (I saw this more than once this weekend). Now all I have is my lowly Slate Warrior (I used Magic Cylinder Last Turn to stop Mobius, but I lost my face down Brain Jacker in the process).

I draw Jeroid. Perfect. I summon Jeroid, I lower Mobius down to pitiful ATK power. Slate pummels him, Jeroid pummels Mystic LV2. If I had Minion. I'd have to choose which monster I'd want to get rid of, because Minion can't even take out a Mystic LV2! 8^D

That's why I think Jeroid still seems to edge out Minion in the overall scheme of things. Again, for your deck I think Minion is a better fit. I run one of each in my current fiend deck.

Ok, you make a valid point, but once mobius dies, do you need to kill LV2. I will test it out if I can get one, though. *hint*

Hehe, either way. And yeah, I need to kill LV2, prevent my opponent the easy way to tribute summon something in next turn 8^D

Dark Mimic LV3 has left, Mystic LV2 is back in. I'm planning on attending the Greensboro regionals this December, please help me build a side-deck for this (and give any other Regionals tips you might have). Don't ask me what my meta is like, TELL me what my meta is like. I just moved to NC, and you guys are all from here, so...
