Snatch Steal Effect

Blackscorp

Poison?... Loaded!!
Is the effect of Snatch Steal a continuous efect or a One-Shot effect??

Ex. 1.

If I take control of an opponent monster with Snatch Steal and the opponent later activates Imperial Order, will the monster return to my opponent Side?? if so, what happens when Imperial Order is Destroyed/Removed, will it return to my side again???

Ex. 2.

If I take control of an opponent monster with Snatch Steal and the opponent activate Remove Brainwashing and the monster return return to my opponent Side, What happens when Remove Brainwashing is Destroyed/Removed, will the monster to my side again???

Ex. 3.

If I take control of an opponent monster with Snatch Steal and then i play Creatur Swap and give my opponent the equiped monster, Will the equiped monster return to my side after Creature Swap resolve???

As far as I remember most (if not all) Equip Spell Cards have continuous effects.

I have checked the rules in the official page and in the card registry but i just got confused my self, any help in this would be very appreciated.

When Imperial Order leaves the field the monster equip. with Snatch Steal will return to your side of the field.

This one I'm going to have to check on.

A monster that is equip. with Snatch Steal and then switches control via Creature Swap will remain on the side of the field it was "Swapped" to after Creature Swap resolves. (and Snatch Steal will remain equip.)

As far as Snatch Steal vs. Remove Brainwashing the rulings for Remove Brainwashing are as follows....

When "Snatch Steal" is active, the +1000 Life Points effect is applied even if "Remove Brainwashing" has returned control of the monster to the original owner.

If "Remove Brainwashing" is destroyed, control does not revert again, so if I activate "Change of Heart" and my opponent chains "Remove Brainwashing", control of the monster comes to me and then reverts to my opponent. Then, later in the turn, if "Remove Brainwashing" is destroyed with "Heavy Storm", control does not revert back to me and remains with the original owner. (The same for "Creature Swap", etc.)

So I'm going to assume that if Remove Brainwashing leaves the field then Snatch Steal will not bring it back to it's side of the field.....unless someone can show me something that is contradictory.

Which is why I love the card Remove Brainwashing :D I'm sure we'll see increased use of Zombie decks with Creatures Swap, Snatch Steal is still not on the ban list, and we're seeing more and more Mind Control.

it is based on the status of the equip, if the equip is active, then the control is changed, if negated or destroyed, it reverts back... Creature Swap tells Snatch Steal to disregard the fact that the monster is back on the opponent's side of the field
just tryin' to help

Then, Creature Swap put a condition on the monster/Field so that the monsters swaped can't be changed back??

If so, then chang of heart won't have any effct on that especific swaped monster.

And thanks for all your help.

Then it is "BKSS" rule?

If the effect of Snatch Steal is cotinuous, then Creature Swap shouldn't negate the continuous effect.

Why the monster return when Imperial Order leaves the fiel; But it won't return when Creatur Swap/Remove Brainwashing leaves???

Sorry if i'm being annoying, but this particular rule bugs me and just want to know WHY it is the way it is?

Imperial Order doesn't say anything about control of a monster changing, it only negates spell cards resolution.

Creature Swap and Remove Brainwashing specifically state control changes.

Lets take a look at the card text from Snatch Steal...

Take control of a monster on your opponent's side of the field that is equipped with this card. Increase your opponent's Life Points by 1000 points during each of his/her Standby Phases.

It doesn't say....

"Take and keep control of a monster on your opponent's side of the field that is equipped with this card as long as it remains equiped with this card regardless of other card effects......."

It is, however, a equip. card so it will stay equip. regardless of who controls the monster Snatch Steal is equip. to. The 1000 lp gain continues as long as Snatch Steal is equip.

I know this is a tough one to stomach. I'm still trying to convince myself in some respects!

Curious. I can't fully understand why control switches back to the owner when Snatch Steal is negated. "Take control of a monster on your opponent's side of the field that is equipped with this card." The card never actually becomes unequipped, just the effect is negated. And it seems to me that the actual control change of the monster only occurs at the moment of "equiping." Now if Snatch Steal is "holding" that monster there through his effect, that's different. And while typing this, I just convinced myself. Amazing. That's what happen when your schizophrenic and one of your personalities is a Jedi  and the other has a weak mind.

What I find is that most of us tend to read more into a card's text than is actually there....then when we discuss it we do a Homer Simpson..."Doooohhhh!"

Then again often times we don't see what IS written on the card that we've looked at a hundred times. This was the case just today with me looking at Ameba. I was looking at combinations with Remove Brainwashing and Ameba when I read the part on Ameba about it's effect only being able to activate once while the monster is face up on the field <shrug>

Most of us before the common use of Creature Swap assumed that Snatch Steal was a continuous magnet that couldn't be unpluged until Snatch Steal was destroyed or removed from the field....but it just isn't so.
