snatch steal

Here is the scenario:

I gain control of my opponent's mounster by snatch steal. In a later turn he has all 4 scapegoats on the field and a mounster equip with an Axe of Dispair.
I activate heavy storm, both snatch steal and axe of dispair are destroyed.

My resolution is my opponent's mounster is destroyed since it has no space available on mounster card zone, afterwards axe of dispair's second effect is activated.

what is the correct ruling for this situation?

The monster is destroyed before Axe of Despair can free up room for it by sacrifing a monster (or token).

Got it right. The monster "returns" inmediately after the HS but due to lack of space it is destroyed.
