Solar Flare... Continuous Damage or One-time effect?

The ruling says you can activate Barrel Behind the Door when Solar Flare inflicts damage at the End Phase of the controllers turn.

We know, of course, that you cannot activate Barrel on a Continuous Effect. So... is Solar Flare's damage continuous, since if it is not, several players are going to need to change their Burn Deck strategies.

Solar Flare Dragon is a triggered continous effect, triggered in, and by, the end phase, and it's effect is put into a chain. It can therefore be chained to. Since its effect is automatic it is the first thing to happen in the end phase.

It "Triggers" at the end phase of the controller thus it is a trigger effect monster.

This is why I hate to even lable effects sometimes because continous effects are sometimes triggered and trigger effects are sometimes continuous yada yada. It's sometimes better to just look at the effect and a riling in the same vien and extrapolate whether its chainable or not. Not an easy task I realize, but doable. And sometimes less confusing.

Which actually follows the precedent set by "Lava Golem" in that is a triggeredeffect as well, but during the standby phase.

Which makes sense, although Digital Jedi's idea is quite useful if implemented... who knows how many questions could be pre-answered with just that information? At least i can certainly make use of it for reference and backing up my judging if questioned.
