Some Questions on Spiritual Fire Art

1. I tribute two of my opponent's monsters for Lava Golem. Spiritual Fire Art was set on my previous turn. Can I use Soul Exchange to tribute Lava Golem for Spiritual Fire Art's effect?

2. (Ignore this one if the answer to #1 is No.) Similarly, if I use Soul Exchange to tribute my opponent's Sacred Phoenix for Spiritual Fire Art's effect, Sacred Phoenix would not return from the graveyard, since my card effect did not destroy him, right?

3. A Lava Golem is in my graveyard. It was properly tribute summoned. Spiritual Fire Art was set on my previous turn. If I use Shallow Grave to bring back Lava Golem in face down defense, I can still tribute him for Spiritual Fire Art's effect, correct?

[edit]Ok, I would have to stick with the "Soul Exchange"/"Metamorphosis" ruling on this one. Once the monster is face-down, you no longer 'know' what type of monster it is; therefor, it cannot be tributed for "Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai".

This is actually something for Digital Jedi's Errata Thread (the Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai). They must make clear if it does matter if it is face-up or face-down, the monster you tribute.

I think it can be Tributed. But highly unsure about it.

You CAN tribute face-down monsters on YOUR side of the field. There is no issue with that. It's whether or not you can tribute face-down monsters on your opponent's side that's the issue.

I'd say not because. Like with Metamorphosis it's "unknown".

[edit] Wasn't the metsmorphosis ruling made becasue their is no level 2 fusion. It one came out would the ruling change?

What are you talking about??? This is from the Metamorphosis Ruling #3, unless it has been changed in the last 5 minutes....


Metamorphosis
Normal Spell

Tribute 1 monster on your side of the field. Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster of the same Level as the Tributed monster from your Fusion Deck.

"¢ Metamorphosis does not properly Summon a Fusion Monster, so you cannot use "Monster Reborn" on it afterwards.

"¢ Tributing a monster is a cost.

"¢ You can Tribute a face-down monster.

We're referring to the ruling that you CANNOT use "Metamorphosis" on your opponent's face-down monster that was targetted by "Soul Exchange".

You cannot activate Metamorphosis if you do not have a fusion monster of the tributed monster's level.

If you have a facedown monster, you can look at the level. You can't look at your oppant's facedown monsters.

Well that makes sense. You dont gain control of your opponents monster by Soul Exchange, so how could you know the level?
