This is one exiledforcefreak hasn't posted yet. I won't be giving a reward, but you can try for fun anyways.

You are in a room with a man who has sentenced you to death. He has given you the right to choose your fate upon how you will die. In one hand he holds a sword, in one a spear. You have 10 seconds to make a statement to him or he will kill you how he pleases. If the statement you make is false, he will kill you with the sword. If the statement you make is true, he will kill you with the spear.

There is one thing you can say to this man and he will let you live. What is it?

...

I'm guessing that's not the correct answer. :skull

Exactly because if he plans to kill you with the sword your statement is true and he must use the spear thus making it a false statement so he must use the sword which makes it a true statement and so on and so forth.

Hopefully the guys head explodes.

Or "You will not kill me with the spear"

Or "This sentence is False"

Of course, all end up not in survival, but in the king ordering someone else to kill you with an axe!

Or he goes nuts and kills everyone else but you cos he cant find a way to kill you and then offs himself while hes at it and you become the new ruler of the land.

For all purposes intended, emerald dragon had the answer I was looking for.

No points awarded......sucessfully?

Sorry, maybe next time.

How about...."You will die in six years." That way, you get a stay of execution until he can determine whther or not it is true...that gives you time to either escape, or fianlly build the ultimate YuGiOh! deck. Whichever comes first.

I'm a little late in getting in on this, but this sounds a lot like a similar riddle I once heard. It's the same premise, except that it's with twin brothers who live in different towns or something like that. Anyone able to help me out? Hopefully I'm not barking up the wrong tree...

Could that possibly be the Paradox brothers? ;)

Yes, it is similar to the town of truth and the town of lies and the "you will boil me in oil" scenarios from Logic 101 back in undergrad; also along the Knight and Knave threads.
