Soul Control

Personally I've found what helps me in my Monarch deck to overcome being unable to use my Soul Exchange or Brain Control is a Cannon Soldier. Not only can you bring it out with Mystic Tomato and use it with your Soul Exchange and Brain Control but it's a nice way to finish someone off.

I could easily see taking out one of the monster destroying trap cards for a Ceasefire. With the Smashings, Nobleman, Brain Control, Snatch Steal, Soul Exchange, etc.....you've plenty of ways to remove monsters. You shouldn't have any problem controling the field....but one timely placed flip effect monster could ruin your hand and field advantage you've worked for. Ceasefire can certainly help to avoid that and of course is good for much more.

What have you for a side deck? Every bit as important as the main deck once you get beyond (and sometimes including) local tournaments.

Ceasefire isn't a staple in this format. Before October 1st it basically was due to mill and such but now, flip effects really aren't that threatening. Morphing Jar and Cyber Jar usually helps out both parties. If I was really having troubles against Morphing Jar I'd run a Ceasefire already but I don't.

My side deck is currently being built I'm just pointing out flaws in my deck as I duel and add things in accordingly.

I use Ceasefire for a finisher more than I do to counter a NoC or opponent's facedowns. Good changes although I have yet to be a fan for Sak Armor. Lets see, like John Danker said, you have lots of monster removal maybe too much, you could try something else in place of one of them, dunno what in particular.

Ceasefire is bad topdeck, it relies on your opponent having monsters on the field. I'd rather not have to use Ceasefire at all rather than using it based on the effect monsters on my side of the field.

Get rid of the Don Zaloog

you can already rape hands with reapers and Thestalos.

Replace it with a dekoichi.

I used to hate dekoichi and though it wasn't very useful, but after maindecking it for a bit, it helps when needed. Since your deck controls the field 80% of the time, getting a free draw will just help out the hand a little more.

I never really considered Dekoichi, I don't like him really. I planned on taking out Newdoria and Don Zaloog for two more D.D. Assailants when they come in the mail, but if they never come in the mail, who knows, I may round up a Dekoichi.

Thanks for the comment, I don't get any nowadays. ;)

Hey, with your SD, make it so it stops decks that will trouble you. I made my sd to stop burn or stall decks.

I put in decree, trunade, wave motion, Elephant Statue of Disaster (stops Last Turn), and things like that to mess up burn or stall decks

To me it just seems that the deck is made to help support your maindeck against other forms of control/ beatdown. Granted, you have mobius to mess them up, but if you don't pick up one, or if they just stall much faster than you can destroy, I would make a SD to take on Burn, Stall, Control/beatdown, and anything that your deck is specifically weak against.

I could give ideas, but you know more than me how your deck runs and what you draw, so its all up to you.

Yea D.D. Assailant > dekoichi. But remember, i'm not an exiled fan but i'm adding it in cuz it works :D

Yeah, that's how things usually work. But when Jinzo was staple for those years, I never ran him. I have never ran a Jinzo and it feels great. If you don't think a certain card is good, that's your preference, if it's not good to you, it's not good. Your opinion is the only one that matters, unless you're asking someone else for an opinion. :p

yup yup, amen to that. oh, and i messed up on my post and I don't feel like editing it -_-;; I meant to say " assailant > dekoichi! But if you don't get the D.D. Assailants, just cuz you don't like a card (dekoichi) doesn't mean you won't like it now :D"

And I completley forgot that Dekoichi is a new craze. My teamate, Justin, just told me to put one in, and I tried it out and it surprisingly worked for me, even though it didn't appeal to me. ::shrug:: I guess some cards get better depending on the deck your running.

Jinzo....that's a card I miss.....I guess that's why I SD him :D

Tell me, what are you going to use BoM on? to Stop ONE attack? if you can't survive one more direct attack with this deck, one more turn isn't going to save you. True, if someone tries to smash one of your monsters, you could BoM it to save it. Technically it is still a One for One, so no advantage is really happening there. I know that if i'm trying to go for the kill and I pull a BoM, I just have something to stall me for another turn. With Reinforcements instead, I can get whatever I need, for whatever situation, and end up on top.

If that doesn't chip the stone, Don't add another one. You don't have enough warriors. Maybe if you added a Mystic Swordsman LV2 AND some other warrior, it would be needed. Cuz assailants can only be used to suicide or to stall for only so long and a Exiled can only be searched for once. I wouldn't add in another RotA unless you add a couple more warriors to help your cause. One is enough.

The problem isn't running a second one, I don't run ANY Reinforcement of the Army, I want one in. I see what you're saying about Book of Moon but unless Book of Moon gives me some sort of disadvantage, I'm not going to lose it very easily.

But I am considering it.
