Spell Canceller MFC-020

Here's a handy little guy that is greatly overlooked by most players. Why? Cause he's a 1 tribute 5 Star monster with only an 1800 ATK, meaning he's not going to be staying around for too long. His effect however can really make it worth while. He is the "Jinzo" for Spell Cards. While he's on the field, no spells can be activated and all others are negated. This would put a severe hurting on most people. He's also a WIND creature so surprisingly, he can fit in with the new Harpie themed decks that give bonus' to WIND creatures (and help him survive a bit longer). Ultimately in the end, he may not survive as long as "Jinzo" would, but in a Trap heavy deck with the right support creatures, watch as he will give your opponent fits trying to get rid of him. And if he does, you can always use "Call of the Haunted" in a chain with their spell card to bring him back to the field and negate it. :D

Lastly, keep 2 things in mind. 1) "Spell Canceller" is still affected by any continuous spell cards on the field first before his effect can activate (so he would be turned to defense position by "Level Limit - Area B" before his effect would negate it). And 2) Unlike "Jinzo", "Spell Canceller" is not restricted so you can run up to 3 in your deck.

Yes, heavy mech can't be used with spell cancellor as he would be
negated. Rare Metalmorph is the only way to go there, give em a
500 atk boost to keep him on the field for a bit. Also helps if you keep
a couple of 7 tools of the bandit in your deck to keep your opponent's
pesky traps at bay till you get jinzo on the field.

I think some missed my point on the use of Spell Canceler. I use it as a side deck item to combat burn decks. It's attack really isn't a problem in that application because I haven't seen a competitive burn deck yet that runs a monster with 1800 atk or higher.

Didn't miss your meaning, I was just adding a different slant to it's uses.
I use this card in my machine deck for a reason. I run against players
that are heavy on Spells and light on traps who also have decent beat
sticks to worry about. I prefer jinzo and spell cancellor at the same
time on the field and they are pretty easy to get there even though I
have only one of each in my deck. With 3 heavy mechs' in my deck
I just might get 2 of them out to protect my protection... :)

You can also try to use 'Rope of Life' on it. Odds are it'll get destroyed by battle so why not bring it back with a permanent power boost that even 2500 atker's can't topple. Yes, the cost for 'Rope of Life' is high but if it works your opponent will have a seriously difficult time trying to get it off the field so he/she may use their spells.
