Swing of Memories

Basing this off of something I read that the OCG rules it this way, but of course this is the TCG, and I hadn't heard anything definitive....

If you use Swing of Memories to special summon a Gemini monster, and use your normal summon to Gemini summon it, the monster will not be destroyed by Swing of Memory's effect? (Since it's treated as a different monster than the one you special summoned, as the OCG apparently rules it?)

Sorry, but TCG has Swing of Memories still destroying the Gemini. Basically, the way it is often reasoned is, the it is a condition placed on the card. It doesn't matter that it is no longer a Normal Card, and since Gemini Summoning it doe snot actually cause the card to leave the Field (all targeting cards still target, for example), Swing will still do its nasty work.

Ooooooooooohhhh..

I think I get it.

If a gemini monster has an equip card (Let's say Ekbyo Drakmord just as an example), when the gemini monster is gemini summoned it is still tied to the effect of the equip card and be destroyed after some time.
(Since it's basically the same monster)

I have one OCG source that says that says the monster will be destroyed, and one OCG source that says it won't. The "It won't be destroyed" one is a out of date.

The original logic was Swing of Memories' OCG text, in which the last line read "A monster Special Summoned by this effect is destroyed during the End Phase.". Originally, Gemini Summoning a monster made the monster no longer summoned by Swing of Memories (since it was then summoned by itself).

Then they updated the ruling, and all is well.

Not to mention, that re-summoning doesn't destroy the equip, as would happen if the monster had left the field in some way.
