Ah goody, another Chrysalis monster (Panther). Contact is becoming slightly more useful.

Could you activate "Venominaga"s effect to Special Summon itself, and then chain "Descent of the Snake God" to Summon "Venominage"?

I hope I'm misunderstanding this Second Summon thing; because the way I see it, Gogre the Grand becomes a staple and the others are pretty good too. I'm seeing it as, you can Normal Summon the card normally and it's a Normal Monster, or you can Normal Summon the card, call it a Second Summon (meaning no Tributes needed), and gain an effect. I see "Second" as meaning "Alternate Normal".

Aah, perhaps if that Dual monster is the second Normal Summon of your turn (by Ultimate Offering, "Double Summon", that kind of thing), it becomes a Second Summon (i.e. no Tributes, gain effect). Because that would be interesting.

1) Yes you could activate Venominom's effect and chain the trap card to summon Venominaga. The timing would be correct

2) The Second/Re-Summon is simply spending your Normal Summon for the turn to activate the effect of a Dual Monster. No tributes are needed for 5* or higher monsters. The only thing I wonder is since this is another summon you could use Trap Hole, etc. on a monster you Re-Summoned. But that's for the rulings in a couple of months when the set comes out.

So, the whole re-summon thing. Instead of Normal Summoning this turn, you skip that out and "re-summon" a Duel-type monster that's already face-up on the field for that turn to turn the "normal" Duel Monster into "effect" Duel Monster right?

EDIT: Another words, I think, when you Normal Summon a Duel Monster, you cannot use the Re-Summon effect cause you already used up the Normal Summon. (Unless Ultimate Offering or that new spell card "Double Summon") Of course, you can probably bypass this by special summoning the Duel Monster and then Re-summon immediately, although now you cannot Normal Summon or Set though.

Too bad these Duel Monsters are only considered Normal while on the field or Grave. Meaning no Advanced Ritual Art or Ancient Rule abuse. (Although they can use Birthright or some couple other ones.)

First: It's "DUAL" (with the "A", not "DUEL") :)

Other than that, you are pretty much correct. There *is* some debate over whether you could use Ultimate Offering or not (I think you should be able to but supposedly their might be an issue. Of course since it was ruled that you could pay for the effect of Ultimate Offering to Normal Summon/Set something before using your Normal Summon/Set for the turn, I don't see why that couldn't be done here to but I'm not going to worry about it until it's much closer to being released).

Please keep 1 thing in mind in regards to Tactical Evolution. It's currently March. Strike of Neos hasn't even been out a month. Tactical Evolution isn't even due in Japan until May (when we get Force of the Breaker). That would mean we're not likely to see it until sometime in August (a good 4-5 months away). There isn't much need to speculate too much on some rulings or game mechanics when we don't even have a full official Japanese Spoiler. While I believe the information we do have is accurate, that doesn't mean that things won't be better defined as the set draws closer to release.

That said, I am amused how Tactical Evolution has drawn a lot of speculation while Force of the Breaker has been somewhat overlooked and ignored.

Agreed with densetsu_x. As interesting as this all might be, I'll wait until something concrete comes out. At the moment there's too much speculation.

Well, FOTB is being ignored cause there's so many "new things" in Tatical Revolution. BUT, I really like FOTB set. New Monarch and the new Chaos monsters really interest me. And the fact that Terraforming is now officially a dead card now. (Like how Electric Snake died once Dark World came out)

The only Dual monster I like so far is that Spellcaster. I mean, once per turn, you can special summon any fiend from hand or graveyard! Of course, you need heavy protection as if he died, so does the rest of the cast. And it's a LV6, so you have to tribute summon, which makes him a normal monster, and THEN re-summon him next turn to get the effect... i.e. way too slow. To use that monster, you should find ways to special summon him right off the bat to immediately turn him into an effect monster IMO. (I don't know, preme/CotH/Magical Dimension/etc?)

If anyone cares, we finally learned the effect of Rainbow Dragon

http://manjyomethunder.twoday.net/

TAEV-JP0?? Ultimate Gem God Rainbow Dragon [Ultra Rare/Ultimate Rare] *Cover*
*/ Anime Effect and Stats /*
LIGHT/Dragon - Effect/10/4000/0
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except when there are 7 types of [Gem Beast] cards on your field or your graveyard. The following effects cannot be activated during the turn this card was Special Summoned:
- Send all [Gem Beast] monster on your side of the field to the Graveyard. The ATK of this card is increased by 1000 points for each card sent to the Graveyard in this way. This effect can also be activated in your opponent's turn.
- Remove from play all [Gem Beast] monster in your Graveyard to return all cards on the field to their owner's decks

-----------

From what I see, this card, although it's the cover boss card, isn't that great. The requirement is that you need 7 different types of cards... meaning you need ALOT of search effect to pull this guy out. (Not even 3x Sapphire Pegasus is enough to get 7 different Gem Beast) Along with the fact that you have to run at least 1x of all the 7 gem beast is also bad. (Couple of the Gem beast are horrible monsters)

So, it's an annoying monster to summon, so what effect you get... not that great overall.

#1 effect: You get ATK boost. Usually, if you want to spend so much of your time pulling off one card, that card better be an OTK or something that's hard to get rid off... but all you get is an ATK boost. It's already 4000ATK. I mean, IF it had a trample effect along with it, then it might have been a good OTK option... but it's not so you'll have to support it with S/T removal or something to use up his high ATK stat.

#2: Field clear effect: Now this is pretty good. Any card effect that wipes everything off the field is good and we know it. (e.g. CED Envoy, Demise, etc.) And unlike Demise, there's no LP cost either. Now, it doesn't destroy but sends it back to the player's decks. But who cares, since it'll overall not added to the players hand so it's still a card loss. And sending it back to deck will negate a couple of annoying monsters you rather not destroy. (Sangan, SPoN, Vampire Lord, etc.) Now, if this card effect DOESN'T effect Rainbow Dragon itself, THEN I think this card would have been great for OTK. (e.g., increase attack boost, then wipe the field and swing directly for game) But it doesn't. And sending Rainbow Dragon back to your deck means that you'll likely draw into that dead card into your hand again. (Since the requirement of field wipe effect is to RFP all Gem Beast monsters, you won't be summoning that Rainbow Dragon again) So in the end, you can't use this card like Demise OTK. Not to mention all the effort of getting all the Gem beast on your field/grave probably means you won't be running that much of special summonable monsters anyway. (i.e. no Gigantes, Rock Spirit, etc.) And so, all that effort for a field wipe without a good follow-up means it's not that worth the effort.

Oh well. At least that other LV10 monster Venominaga is broken as crap. So people CAN make a deck around that monster.

IMO, stick with regular Gem Beast with 3x Sappire Pegasus rather then this one.

If you notice, it said that is the Anime effect. However from a scan of the card, it looks like that will indeed be the effect.

However there are some other cards that was posted on dmcomet.net that continue with a Chaos theme requiring 2 of 1 attribute and 1 of the opposite (Earth/Air and Fire/Water). One lets you discard a card to destroy a S/T and the other is discard a card to destroy a monster. Go there for more inforation (I'm fixing a laptop at the moment).

Yep. Read those as well.

Yeah, I know it says the anime effect, but still. The fact that the image and the text is out, I'm pretty sure that's the effect. Anyway, the fact that Rainbow Dragon can't immediately kick in his effect the turn it was summoned itself kinda kills the use of the card.

Yeah, I've read them. They're pretty much the more expensive cost version of Chaos Sorcerer and Chiron the Mage. But they are 2300ATK special summonable beatstick.

And they can attack even after they used their effect. Not to mention the Fire/Water version can destroy face-down. I think that one is overall way better then the Enrise one with the 3xLight/Fairy+1xDark/Fiend version. (3x removal is easier then 4x removal) The only bad part is that you have to discard a card for their effect.

Face it. Enrise won't be run that much. Norreras what people will build the deck around. As for the other 2, I see their usefulness somewhat limited only because there isn't a large synergy with Earth/Wind and Fire/Water. That said, at least it does give some of the non-standard deck types a new weapon they can play with and the fact that you will guarenteed get a 1 for 1 (discard for S/T or discard for Monster) that is usable once per turn and still have a 2300 attacker after the fact.

The only issue with all the Chaos-themed monsters is that they further encouraging the restricting/banning of Card Trooper, Dimension Fusion, and Return from the Different Dimension.

Yeah, those two new 2300ATK beatsticks will help out the overall theme of Wind and Water decks. (They just need to splash a little bit of Earth or Fire, which isn't hard at all)

Yes, I know that Enrise is nothing compared to the CED power of Norreras.

Card Trooper isn't that broken. But yeah, RftDD and Dimension Fusion will still be as long as there's alot of removal engine going on.

We really need more dark/fiend monsters that's good other then Dark World when FOTB comes out. (like Des Calibur Knight)

EDIT: And is it just me, or the overall Wind/Winged-Beast decks are getting a major boost. Winged-Beast decks now have access to 3x SPoN, Hunter Owl, and the new Harpies Queen, and a Wind Monarch that's coming out. (Along with Icarus Attack which is always good) And now this thing. I remembered that Wind-Attributes were always considered the weakest among the 6 types.

Really, you can run 3x Wind Monarch, 3x of those wind/earth one. (Just run 3x Exiled Force for extra Earth splashing) Hunter Owl, and Harpies Queen if your running a Harpies deck, along with couple other stuff (like Kamakiri #2, Gyroid,Twin-Headed Behemoth, etc. maybe) and you got yourself a pretty decent Wind-themed deck. (And in wind deck, you can run that Barrier of Torrent, to block any other special summon other then Wind-Attribute. The only Wind Monster people plays these days is maybe Twin-Headed Behemoth or E-Hero Stratos. No Cyber Dragon, no Treeborn Frog, etc. is good for you.)

Card Trooper isn't broken per say, but it does allow for many more things to occur than without it. There are quite a number of cards that can use the graveyard either to return them to hand or remove from play. Card Trooper feeds the graveyard at ridiculous rates. Playing a Normal Monster themed deck? Speed through your deck and Dark Factory the monsters back to your hand. Accidentally send the spell card you need there? Magical Stone Excavation it back. Playing Bazoo, Strike Ninja, Freed, or Chaos variants? Look there's plenty of monsters to remove. Plus the +1 Card when he's destroyed.

Yes there are ways to shut it down and it may not be the most splashable card, but the engine behind its purpose can be used in a lot of different decks. Couple that with the "Machine Duplication" spell card (right... 400 ATK) and you're looking at a very mean way to do some heavy deck recycling. It may not be worthy of being banned outright, but restricted to 1 would be a very good thing.

The full spoiler list is up.

Here are some of my comments about this whole set.

IMO, I honestly don't like the whole Dual monster thing. You have to waste 2 normal summons to get any of the effect. That 1 turn delay will usually means that it'll die next turn before you'll actually use the effect. Yeah, there's Dual Summon spell card... but still.. Not to mention if the monster is a tribute Dual Monster... even more impossible to use the effect. And without Foolish Burial for us, using Birthright to take a shortcut will be even more harder. (Well, we still have Ultimate Offering... but that's 1x per deck) We have Card Trooper, Merchant, etc. but that's pot luck.

IMO of decently good Dual monster

TAEV-JP021 Piper of Good Luck / Rippling Alissa / Devil's Summoner

-----

And also, we're getting more normal monsters. But they're not pure trash, as they fit into the deck theme they represent. IMO, the best one would be TAEV-JP004 Hound Dragon. A 1700ATK LV3 Dragon beatstick means a whooping 2500ATK for any of they Cyberdark machines. And seriously, a LV4 effect monster that goes instantly to 2500ATK status is TRUELY scary as it'll beat all the Monarch/Jinzo. Before, the only good monster with this much potential ATK stat was just Bazoo for us. But unlike Bazoo, these guys got trample or direct attack. The only downside with these guys would be that you cannot use Masked Dragon to search it. But there's always the Emmesary. (yeah, it DOES have uses other then just Exodia people)

And then there's Rainbow Dragon. Although the effect is not that great since there's a 1 turn delay, a 4000ATK beatstick is good for a deck that cannot go over the 2000ATK limit. Send the beatstick as lead and the rest attack for game for OTK I guess.

IMO, the best new "theme" added is the Venom/snake theme. TAEV-JP013 Venominaga, Deity of Venomous Serpents is possibly the most broken win condition monster that's legal to play right now. The set-up isn't THAT card compared to some other theme and the effort is GREATLY rewarded as once that thing comes out.. it's almost impossible to stop it within 3 attacks it needs. To make this thing not broken, you'll probably have to make sure NO reptile monsters hit the graveyard by Banisher/DFissure/etc. and go to the extremes as Soul Release.

Some of them cards are better than sex. My burn deck will be amazing thanks to the volcanics from FOTB and some of those cards.

TAEV-JP031 Fortune Teller of Crystal
WATER/Spellcaster - Effect/1/100/100
Flip: Look at the 2 top cards on your deck, select 1 of them and add it to your hand. Return the other card under your deck.

Seriously... WTF they thought of this card.... I mean. This LITERALLY SCREAMS APPRENTICE MAGICIAN! And NOT ONLY you draw a card. (i.e. Dekoichi/Skelengel) but you get to CHOOSE what to draw (Okay, only top 2, but it's still a choice) and what you hate and put it back to bottom of the deck. The stat is crap, but who cares! This is apprentice engine ABUSE! Since MoF is banned, this is CLEARLY a solid replacement and with this card, we can CLEARLY see the return of Apprentice Engine coming back. The reason why it's taking a break is cause

#1: MoF is banned
#2: using Old Vindictive against Gadgets, Card Trooper, and other floater monsters is a waste.

Other then the usual Apprentice/old combo, the only other decent target was just Hand of N if you ran a SPoN deck... but now with this... eek freaking DEE! (I expect AT LEAST 2x of these guys in EVERY Apprentice engine.) Good card for a common. I want my 3x right now lol!

TAEV-JP033 Frost and Flame Twin Dragon
TAEV-JP034 Desert Twister

These guys are pretty interesting. The prob with the new CHaos monsters is that not only 4x mosnter needed, but they're nit-picky. But these guys are not, as the only thing they care are attributes. Althought one needing 2x fire and another 2x wind, clearly for Fire or Wind deck with a splash of other attribute mixed. Fire deck... not too sure what they should use. (Most Fire decks are BURN style, so monster destruction isn't needed too much, except for Jinzo/Des Wombat) But for Wind deck... ANOTHER freaking boost. We already got Raiza, Icarus Attack, Hunter Owl, etc. And now we got this guy. Need earth... umm... it's REALLY EASY to splash earth. Run like 3x Nimbles, or 2~3x Exiled Force or a couple rats and maybe 1x N-Space Grand Mole... that's more then plenty. And in the days without Breaker, s/t destruction is a decent effect.

TAEV-JP035 Offering of Ritual
DARK/Demon- Effect/1/300/300
When you Special Summon a DARK Ritual Monster, you can tribute this card alone for the Ritual Summon.

This thing is interesting. it pretty much screaming to be sidedecks with Demise OTK decks. Why? cause most Demise decks have either Contract of Abyss/End of the World at least in their sidedecks just in case of Curse Seal. (Yes, I've seen people run that in their sidedeck) And usually with COntract/End of the World, their best option is just Metal Armored Bug... but this is a solid alternative along with that LV8 bug. At least it's not a dead card in hand and can serve a 1 turn face-down wall. And it's easily searchable. But of course, I don't expect everybody to run this guy since Advanced Ritual Art clearly states that Normal Monsters are better in Ritual decks. :p

TAEV-JP036 Kamisori Tokage (Razor Lizard)
EARTH/Reptile - Effect/3/1500/300
When this card attacks a face-up monster while there is another Reptile-Type monster on your side of the field besides this card damage calculation is not done and the monster is destroyed.

just when Reptiles got a huge boost with Venom theme... eek, another abuse...

TAEV-JP039 Zombie Master [Rare]
DARK/Undead - Effect/4/1800/0
When this card is face-up on the field, you can send 1 monster from your hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or less Undead-Type monster from your Graveyard. This effect can only be used once per turn.

Gee, another option for Pyramid Turtle... Another fun guy for Zombie decks to abuse. At LEAST it won't summon Vampire Lord or in Japan, Soul of Malice - Gouka.

TAEV-JP045 Hope of Fifth
TAEV-JP046 Rebirth of Neos

More E-Hero support. But now, they're getting smarter. Although we already have Pot of Avarice so Hope of Fifth... hmm... (not to mention it kills the use of Miracle Fusion, so why use it?)

--------

The whole deck theme of N-Spacian support. Well, IMO, not too great. We'll see if it's good enough to be abused.

TAEV-JP054 Cyberdark Impact!

Don't we already have Overload Fusion? Oh wait, that's 1x per deck now. And this card is overall better since you can select from hand/field/grave rather then just field/grave. And sending it to your deck might be better if you don't want to use RftDD/Dimension Fusion.

TAEV-JP028 Flint Lock
TAEV-JP055 Flint Attack

I actually find this cute. Useless competitively IMO, but still, it makes that crap card valuable again somewhat.

TAEV-JP056 Dual Summon

Possibly the best support for Dual Decks. And even WITHOUT dual decks, this card is STILL good. Summoning 2x Normal Summon is really good. (See why Ultimate Offering is 1x per deck) Not just Gadgets, but even Monarch can use this if you want to instanly summon that beatstick. (especially if you have a Sangan/Treeborn Frog/etc in your hand) Yeah that's 3x card use for Monarch... but it'll be a fast start. I mean, the reason why Cyber Dragon is so popular is cause of not just a beatstick, but it's a special summon and thus got another normal summon in reserve for that turn.

TAEV-JP057 Master Summoner's Skill

I think they made this so Ancient Rule will have more value then right now. Those two are meant for each other. :p

TAEV-JP058 Snare Device

Hmm... Another Creature swap.... not sure if this is a good thing as Creature Swap is 2x per deck for a reason.

TAEV-JP059 Halberd of the Guardian Deity

Do they WANT a gigantic insane ATK beatstick with Harpie deck... With 3x Harpie Queen and 3x or whatever harpie monster.... that's 6x of the same name... meaning, it's a potential max of 5x900ATK for 4500ATK boost.... not even United We Stand, Megamorph, Limiter Removal, etc. goes this high... eek.

TAEV-JP060 Compensation of Battlefront Revival

A Premature Burial for Normal deck. Not bad, and more quicker then Birthright. (Although losing 1 monster for the special summon is a big loss)

TAEV-JP061 Necklace of Usurpation

Not bad, if the monster is weaker for the Normal monster, more ATK boost. I would use it for LV3 or lower Normal monsters though. (Jerrybeans Man, Mad Lobster, and that new Hound Dragon comes to mind)

TAEV-JP072 Commoner's Charity

Alternative for Normal decks as a semi-graceful Charity. And the effect is "Send", not discard so no Dark World Abuse. (Thank god)

TAEV-JP076 Magic Capture
TAEV-JP077 Trap Capture

These guys are interesting. It makes you use those spell or trap card. And since MoF is banned, using that spell card over again might be worth the discard to get whatever you activated back to hand. (Decent alternative for Magical Stone Excavation, although being a trap card hurts the whole Diamond Dude abuse.)

TAEV-JP080 Counter Counter

Now THIS is interesting. Perhaps cause of soo many Counter Trap cards we're seeing play, this card came out. An utter devastation for Counter Fairy decks, and a serious anti-anti sidedeck card for people who love Pulling the Rug/Solemn Judgment/Seven Tools/Curse Seal/etc. Seriously, decks like Demise where they face stuff like 3x Rugs and couple Solemn/Curse seal against them, a decent sidedeck option then just 3x Royal Decree. (Since then you can't use your Waboku/Roar/Gravity Bind/etc.) Althought this won stop your foe's Threatening Roar/Waboku.

TAEV-JP062
Broken Bamboo Sword
Magic - Equipment
Increase the attack strength of the equipped monster by 0.
Did anyone else lol? Might this even be a typo?

I noticed that Dual monster "Variable Armour" (5 Stars with the Asura Priest effect) has 2350 ATK. Not high enough to destroy the commonly used Tribute monsters, but still quite good itself.

Although really, I can't see anyone using Dual Decks at all. They're too slow. Perhaps in the next set they'll release a bunch of cards that Special Summon Dual monsters with their effects already activated. That might at least give them an edge. But at the cost of 2 Normal Summons (and a possible Tribute), they're just bad.

That non-Fusion Fusion monster "Neo-Spacian Marine Dolphin" just looks stupid. Why a Fusion Monster? Fusion monsters, by definition, should be fusions of other monsters. Perhaps they should just rename the Fusion Deck the Reinforcements Deck instead. And looking at "Neo-Spacian Extent - NEX" and what happened with "Contact!", I'm pretty sure the other Neo-Spacians will get their own non-Fusion Fusion counterparts too.

Having criticised "Neo-Spacian Marine Dolphin", I do notice its Neos fusion is the only one that remains on the field. Unfortunately it looks like they're not giving up on the Neo-Spacian idea, and will be releasing a bunch more Rare/Super Rare Neos fusions in later sets which will take up space that could have been used for good things.

"Holy Frame" and "Dark Frame" look like weaker versions of Kaiser Sea Horse, Double Coston and Gellenduo (kinda), but at least they have Types appropriate for the oh so beloved neo-Chaos monsters. Big whoop.

I'd love it if the name of card 18 actually did remain as "Elemental Hero Another Neos".

I think we'll be seeing a bunch of Venom Decks around. While they don't have quite as much support as Aliens, they do more damage (more ATK decreasing, plus the destruction of 0 ATK monsters), and Venominaga seems to fit right in with the reptiles. Added Reptile support ("Snake Rain", "Venom Shot", etc.) is also looking good.

Also, looking at the set, we get fewer Ultimate Rares (the Supers no longer get that joy), but we do get this new so-called Holo Rare. We get 20 more cards too, although some would say that's just the Neo-Spacian "support" they finally decided was needed. However, it still seems to me like it's all over the place, which indeed it is; it came from the anime as opposed to being properly thought up.

Let's hope the Dark Structure Deck originals don't end up as Secret Rares in this one. It's pointless, and just not worth it.

The Dark Structure Deck originals are Secret Rares in FOTB.

Which can be confirmed since people are posting pictures of them with the cards and there's an auction on eBay already (eBay.it granted but still).

Unlike the Fairy deck, the New Dark Cards are... "meh" at best.

Hold up, the Dark Structure Deck is gunna be released as Secret Rares?! But does this mean we're getting Crush Card amd Shield Crush as a Secret rare? (That's about the only really good one that we're missing)

Although IMO, we're definately NOT gettign Crush Card that fast since it is a SJC prize card. They're gunna release it AFTER it doesn't become a prize card.

No, Crush Card Virus will not be one of the Secret Rares because it is not a "new" card.

Likewise, I would venture to say we wouldn't be getting Shield Crush either since while it's "new" to the TCG, it's not a "new" card. That one is a bit of a gray zone but I would be willing to bet that no, it won't be included.
