City of Gamers is ready to reactivate the Team Card of the Day card review program. This time around, we are going about it a bit differently then the previous incarnation. So chuck what you knew about the old TCotD and get ready for an all knew team with an all new focus!
We're looking for article writers willing to put forth one card article on a weekly basis. We can accommodate you if you need a larger margin of days to work in (for example, you can't do weekly, but you can do bi-weekly), but in that case, we'd be a little bit more insistent that your articles get turned in regularly. Ideally, though, we hope to find those that can do one article, once a week.
What is significantly changing with this Team CotD, is the subject matter of each review. We'll no longer be doing weekly deck themes or deconstructing particular builds throughout the week. Instead, we will be accommodating each writer's particular specialties and preferences.
What that means is, if you have a particular theme for your card review, then your welcome to develop that theme as part of your weekly review. Is your idea to do a weekly article about burn cards and strategies? Is your idea to do weekly reviews of upcoming cards from future sets? Is your idea to do weekly reviews of cards that you believe have potential, but haven't been tapped yet? Whatever thematic you think you have a propensity for, then have at it. We will theme your articles according to your preferences for that day.
You articles will be posted on the same day of each week, regardless of when you actually turned the article in. What this means is that you will have your special day of the week were your article is featured. It is our hope, that we have enough volunteers with one assigned day, that we can have at least enough articles for each day of the week. So, for example, if my assigned day is Wednesday, you would see my article posted each Wednesday of each week.
You will be more then welcome to submit articles early, or more then one at a time. As long as you have enough articles to be regular, then this is what we ideally are searching for. If it turns out we have more article writers then days of the week, then that's more then we could hope for!
If your interested in being a part of the new Team Card of the Day, then PM me your request. I'll ask you to do a sample article which will be reviewed prior to your approval. You'll be required to format your articles a certain way to give the articles a professional look and consistency across the forum. We'll be looking for people that can convey their articles with good grammar, spelling and structure. And at the very least, we hope you can make them interesting. They need not be excessively long or wordy to meet any requirements, but they will at least need to have some substance to them. A single paragraph or two about what you think of a given card will not be enough. Give us some meat with our potatoes. We will also be very interested in people who can offer something different then the usual reviews you find everywhere else (though that doesn't mean we will exclude you if you don't).
NOTE: Previous Team Card of the Day members will likely need to reapply if you haven't submitted an article in over a year. Either way, get in contact with me and to see what you need to do about getting back onto the team, if desired.
Just so you all know, the Card Reviews and Tips section will soon be a permission-only based forum. Non-TCotD members may still post articles in the General Discussion area, but the Card Reviews and Tips section will only allow Team members to start threads there. Of course, everyone will be allowed to comment in threads once posted.
You may want to seriously consider joining the new Team, because in the near future, daily articles will also be featured on the main page of our forum. Any questions you have may be posted here.
