TER ATK question... ><!!

I'm having a running arguement with a person who gives the following situation:

TER takes a Nightmare Penguin on the field. Its ATK becomes 1100. True or False?

And I say false, because I'm like, 95% sure that its ATK would be 900... because TER takes the original ATK right?

TER only takes the printed ATK, and Nightmare Penguin's effect wouldn't be active while it was an Equip card.

Hmm...I guess we couldn't completly get rid of the concept of 'printed ATK'.

In this situation, it is pretty much the only way to explain it.

You could just say, the Cards's original unmodified Attack Stats, but according to the explanation of "original attack", if you used Megamorph, it changes the cards original attack so you would, assumingly, get the boost/reduction if Nightmare Penguin were equipped with Megamorph before you absorbed him.
