The 3 JUMP cards

Ok, let's start with my very first reaction.

*clears throught*

AHAhahahaAHHAHAhahahahaHAHAHAlmaoHAHAHA!

Phew, now the outburst is out of the way, let's talk about the cards.

First of all Yu-Jo Friendship is... well how should I say this... hmhm... Let's just say I used to joke around (and still do) with friends about playing an imaginary card that does something like that... And now there's a reall card like that?!?! Dang it... I'll stop talking about it because I'm feeling a new outburst comming again...

Well, the other 2 are decent... but not all that great. Bottom line is, after "Heart of the Underdog" and "Kaibaman" (wich both are quite usefull in the right deck), only the kiddies are gonna "looove" these... surelly a pure comercial/kiddie-bait. (sheesh who come's up with this stuff...) :haveaday

And because the cards for some reason dont show up in the link... here's what they do:

Card Name Unity
Card Type Spell QuickPlay
Text:
Select 1 monster on your side of the field. The DEF of the selected monster becomes equal to the combined original DEF of all face-up monsters on your side of the field, until the end of this turn.

Card Name Yu-Jo Friendship
Card Type Normal Spell
Text:
Offer your opponent a handshake. If they accept your handshake, each player's Life Points become half the combined Life Points of both players. If you have "Unity" in your hand and show it to your opponent, they must accept the handshake. (lol ?!?!)

Card Name Judgment of the Pharaoh
Card Type Trap
Text:
Pay half your Life Points. Select and activate an appropriate effect which can be applied:
- If "Yu-Jo Friendship" is in your Graveyard, until the end of this turn: your opponent cannot Normal Summon, Set, Flip Summon, or Special Summon a monster(s), or activate an Effect Monster's effect, and their monster's effects are negated.
- If "Unity" is in your Graveyard, until the end of this turn: negate the effects of all Spell and Trap Cards on your opponent's side of the field, and your opponent cannot activate Set Spell or Trap cards.

I actually thought of using unity in some type of rock deck...you know, your opponent attacks one of your face up defense monsters with whatever defense and you add 2000 + 2000 + 1800 to that.......

about the only use that card will ever see.

Yu-Jo Friendship? Is that card some kind of a joke? Why don't we just release "Anger Management"?

Counter Trap
You may only activate this card when you were just about to pull off that OTK but your opponent played something to stop it. Pay a modest amount of Life Points to have the right to repeatedly punch your opponent in the face.

But really, the card actually makes some degree of sense. I just don't understand why the text was worded the way it was. It could easily say, "If you have 'Unity' in your hand and show it to your opponent, each player's Life Points becomes the average of the two's players Life Points. If you do not show your opponent your 'Unity', your opponent may choose to average the Life Points, or they may choose to resolve this card without any effect at all."

So basically, unless you want to try to pull off the monumentally situational Unity combo, the only way I can see this card being useful is if you actually did not want your opponent's Life Points to be higher than yours. And wouldn't your opponent catch on to this? I mean, if someone play's "Yu-Jo Friendship" without a unity, why would you even consider accepting the handshake, when he / she obviously WANTS you to accept it?

That's the point I was trying to make. So why the over the board use of player-emotion-whatever? Look at the art work... then you'll know... This allmost make me sad :haveaday

It's just emotion. Don't fear it. Embrace it. Contrary to popular opinion, it won't make you look stupid. :kissy

Yeh, that would be nice for a stall to kill OTK deck with heavy defenders... like I said, the cards are decent... it's just the overall theme... the art... and the *ghmphm* effect of Yu-Jo... Sheesh

Evil......is Jathro some language for Satan Spawn? j/k

Dude, do you ever look at people's signatures?

Just because you hate my analyses, I'd like to point out that your last sentence was self-contradicting. That is, if we assume by "look stupid" you meant "look stupid to others" then it would follow that if "popular opinion" refers to "the opinion of others", I would say that means if popular opinion is that it would make you look stupid, then it most definitely would make you look stupid. Wait a minute ... What?:?

Yes. Dutch, I believe :)

Off the top of my head:
2x Gravekeeper's Spy
3x Destiny Hero - Defender
1x Big Shield Gardna
2-3x Great Spirit
2-3x Labyrinth Wall/Millenium Shield
1x Sangan
2-3x Sand Moth
3x Gear Golem the Moving Fortress (pay 800 to attack direct for the win after Unity? Yes, please.)

3x Unity
3x Shield & Sword
All the usual suspects as far as S/T go

It's combo heavy, and it would likely need to stall until you get Unity AND Shield & Sword, but there's potential I think.

Seems people haven't been looking at Shield & Sword recently. RONIN says it switches original ATK and DEF. Unity only modifies current DEF. This combo won't work.

yeah, I just read that (****quotes Ronin****)

Switch the original ATK and DEF of all face-up monsters on the field until the End Phase. ANY ADDITIONS OR SUBTRACTIONS TO ATK OR DEF DUE TO CARD EFFECTS ARE APPLIED TO THE NEW ATK AND DEF. Monsters summoned after this card's activation are excluded.

Man that would have been fun to play too........

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has no idea what your talking about.

*YOU'RE

Maybe I'm just ignorant (probably) but I can't get a grip on how you guys can be certain that Unity doesn't modify originals. It uses the word "becomes" instead of "is increased by" which would imply to me that it very well might be modifying the original DEF. Clarification, please?

Maybe because it simply says the DEF of the card becomes and not the Original DEF of the card becomes....

Nah...it couldn't be THAT simple....could it?

Oh no- not the word becomes again. Why does UDE use that word! It is going to be sonic shooter all over again.
