The Creator

1. When you activate creator's effect by discarding a monster, and lets say you discarded a Jinzo, can you special summon that very Jinzo you just discarded?

Assuming it's not a monster that has special requirements to summon it to the field, then yes you could.

So if you had "Call of the Haunted" set for a turn or played "Premature Burial", sure you can bring "Jinzo" back to the field.

You are wrong.

Select 1 monster from your Graveyard. Send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard, and Special Summon the selected monster. You can only use this effect once per turn. This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard.

You need to select the monster in the graveyard before you discard, so you cannot discard Jinzo and Revive it.

That is definitely the one catch in the effect, you select the card in the graveyard, then send one card from your hand to the graveyard. Granted that is a bit of a downside the effect is still good and I plan on using the card.

Well, if he meant could he special summon it by using the effect of "The Creator" as stated, no.

I was reading it as could he special summon the monster he discarded with something else (which is why if you look at my answer, i was talking about CotH and PB).

dont forget tho, the creator effect is not a cost, so u declare that u are activating the creator effect and select the monster card u wish to special summon from the graveyard. when the creator effect is resolving, at this point, send 1 card to graveyard from your hand and special summon the monster u delared.

the creator has a cost effect.

the cost is 1 card from your hand.

cause, you cant activate the effect if you have no hand.

either way, it can easily get negated now.

my friend pulled 2 "the creators" in the same box, summoned 1 on me, all i had to do i wait for it to activate the effect, then i used devine wrath.

quite easy to killl the creator.

No, The Creator has an effect that involves sending a card to the graveyard. Sending a card from hand to the graveyard happens at resolution of the effect. Therefore when you use Divine Wrath to kill The Creator, your opponent isn't out that additional card from the hand.

the creator definitely has his good points and his bad points. that is rather ironic though that they would put not just the creator in a set but also a card that can destroy him (divine wrath) and a card that can bring him back to your hand (monster reincarnation). all in all though if you get the right situations the creator can be pretty good when it comes down to it. especially if you put yourself in a situation where you have level limit - area b on the field and keep bringing out lower level monsters that can attack or attack your opponent's LP directly.
