The Eleventh Doctor

Just so you know, the wife and I have been starting the Doctor Who saga over. And I mean over. As in William Hartnell over. Most Americans were introduced to Dr. Who during the Tom Baker years, but once it gained popularity here, they threw a few of the Hartnell/Troughten episodes on the air and that was pretty much it. Since I'm a completest kind of person, I've been putting the cursed Blockbuster account to good use and playing catchup on some stuff I've been wanting to see. So with that said, I'll probably be caught up with the current series sometime around 2015. (That is, provided Blockbuster starts filling in the missing DVDs they don't have. It's bad enough most of the Hartnell stuff is missing, much less having to skip through what little does exist.)

Here's the thing. I was looking at an article about the new guy. And I guess it was an American website, because the nimrods in the comment section of this site kept making jokes about how they were going to crossover Doctor Who with Twilight and 90210 and some such nonsense.

As I said, here's the thing.

They were insinuating that the show was coping to the teen/Twilight crowd because they picked this real handsome young guy.

Yeah.

Young, surely. Bloodless, maybe. But handsome? Twilight handsome? Is there something about the "leave a comment" button that just turns on every dim bulb in the world and forces them to say something, even when it doesn't make any sense?

Leave a comment button does swicth on every dim bulb in the galaxy, but as far as Doctor Who is concerned, well at least for me, as long as the guy can act and he makes the part his own nothing else matters!!!

The fact that Steven Moffett is writing for him makes him very promising. I just hope RTD doesn't kill the series before then with his Rose obsession. Seriously, when you've sealed a companion into an inaccessible parallel universe, just leave her there!

For the record, I don't want to know any spoilers regarding Doctor Who. None at all. Even that picture is almost too much.

I guess you didn't read the part where I said I'm watching the Hartnell episodes. HARTNELL! It will be a while before I can give you spoilers about the Tom Baker years.

With that said, has anyone read the online comic called the Ten Doctors. I hope it's still around when I catch up on all of this.

I was referring to the spoiler in the form of that picture you included in your opening post. That and the name (I presume - I skipped past that in my effort to avoid said spoilers). I was also referring to the specials to be released later, and to any 11th Doctor stuff. Who mentioned Tom Baker?

I did. There are actually no spoilers in my first post about anything, other then the picture. I don't even know the guy's name. I was ranting about something else. I'm just pointing out that I won't be ruining anything for you anytime soon, because I'm starting from the beginning, which I presume, in your effort to avoid any spoilers, you skipped over.
