The Forgiving Maiden and DD Warrior Lady and Skill Drain

The text says "Offer this card as a tribute to return 1 of your monsters destroyed in battle during this turn to your hand."

First, if your monster is removed from play when it is destroyed (say its a DD Warrior Lady that suicided into a Jinzo and then used its effect to remove both cards) rather than going to the graveyard can The Forgiving Maiden's effect be used? (I am going to guess yes).

Second, if Skill Drain is on the field can the effect be used? (Again I am going to guess yes since it will not be on the field when its effect resolves).

Third, can the effect only be used when you are the turn player? (Again I am going to guess yes).

dont go by what i say right away but lemme have a take on this.

for your first question, yes because D.D. Warrior lady is destroyed as a result of battle in the damage step. After the damage step, D.D. warrior lady's effect resolves (meaning she did die by battle first before going out of play if her effect was activated) therefore forgiving maiden may return he rto your hand

second, im not sure, most probably no, because the first part of D.D. warrior lady's effect says "When this card battles another monster..." and that first part could mean the conditions that should be met before activation. And since skill drain is out the condition is not met because it is'nt defind (think of skill drain as erasing the text on an effect card when its on the field)

you may use it any players turn as long as the condition of the card battling another monster is met

In response to question #2:
Except that it has already been clarified that Giant Germ's effect works and it only activates when destroyed as a result of battle, so even though that has a condition its effect still takes place. Since the card's words are nearly the same as cannon soldiers, which has been ruled to be able to use its ability(on itself) when skill drain is active, you could only assume that any monster with an effect that includes "offer X monsters as tribute to...." to be able to activate as long as itself is a target.

Skill Drain will not prevent The Forgiving Maiden resolving as it leaves the field as a cost to activate the effect so it will resolve normally.  Skill Drain will not prevent D.D. Warrior Lady from using her effect as she removes herself as a cost to activate her effect.

I am pretty sure Skill Drain negates DD Warrior Lady's effect since it resolves on the field. Although DD Warrior Lady is removed from play the effect resolves after damage calculation and before the card is send to the graveyard.

Answer to question 1: yes you can return it after all it was sent to the grave as a result of battle that turn.
Answer to question 2:no because you can only tribute it by its effect and it is negated
Answer to question 3:you can use it at your turn or your opponents turn as long as D.D warrior lady battles someone.

This last post misses the point of the questions:

First DDWL was not sent to the grave but was removed from play. The issue is can Forgiving Maiden bring her back?

Second, Skill Drain does not stop cards that are tributed for their own effect (eg. Exiled Force or Cannon Soldier). It is not obvious, therefore, that Skill Drain would negate Forgiving Maiden's effect.

Third, the question was about Forgiving Maiden's effect, not DDWL's. In other words is it a multi-trigger effect.

1) "The Forgiving Maiden" could not be used to return a card that has been "Removed from Play" (because by the very definition, "removed from play" means it can't be used again for the rest of the duel... please don't get me started on how especially since IOC, "Removed from play" has merely become "Graveyard #2"... "removed from play" is beyond her effect.)

2) She would be in the graveyard when her effect resolves so yes it can slide past "Skill Drain" and be usable.

3) I'm not 100% certain. I would lean towards "no" though only because if the effect was usable during your opponent's turn, they (usually) indicate it on the card (such as with "A-Team: Trap Disposal Unit")

On the first point though it only says "destroyed" not "destroyed and sent to the graveyard" which makes me wonder. I cannot find anything in the rulings to stop the effect from going through.

Well, thinking about it I'm figuring this is the scenario on how it would happen:

I have my "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" on the field.

My opponent pulls out "Penumbral Soldier Lady" and attacks my Soldier. Since she's now 3100, she will destroy him.

Now, there is a point in the Damage Step where the monster is considered "Destroyed" before that monster is sent to the Graveyard/Removed from play (say if "Banisher of the Light" was on the field or if the monster was destroyed by "Dark Magician of Chaos"). It is at this point when you can activate the effect of "The Forgiving Maiden" and send the card that was "destroyed" to your hand instead of the Graveyard/Removed from play.

I'm 99.99% certain that's how that game mechanic works.

but forgiving maiden is not a multi trigger effect so why, did you say that if an opponent Penumbral soldier lady attacks your BLS-EB you could tribute your maiden, to bring it back?, wouldn`t it be able to activate only if you "crashed" your BLS to another monster?

Are we sure that "The Forgiving Maiden" is not multi-trigger?

Yes, we're sure.

netrep 600:
The Forgiving Maiden
The effect of "The Forgiving Maiden" may only be used during a player's Main Phase 1 or Main Phase 2.
The effect of "The Forgiving Maiden" may be activated before a monster is destroyed in Battle in Main Phase 1.

i recognize that they're not Official anymore but i see no reson for this to have chainged (except for the second part.. that might be different)

Then take this scenario.

Your "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" attacks your opponent's "Jinzo". During the Damage Calculation, they activate "Rush Recklessly" raising "Jinzo" to 3100 ATK. BLS would be considered destroyed but instead of sending him to the Graveyard, activate "The Forgiving Maiden" and return BLS to your hand.

Skill Drain wouldn't matter at all in this scenario as we are talking about Envoy of the Beginning attacking Jinzo who has been pumped up by Rush Recklessly. The Forgiving Maiden offers herself as the cost to activate her effect so she doesn't care about Skill Drain. However, Envoy would go to the graveyard before returning to your hand because as a simple Cost Effect you would have to wait until Main Phase 2 to activate The Forgiving Maiden.

So if Banisher of the Light is on the field and you attack the pumped up Jinzo, Envoy would go to removed from play at the end of the damage step. I'd agree with the suggestion that The Forgiving Maiden would not be able to reach out to return a monster removed from play in the Battle Phase during Main Phase 2. There might be some argument for activating The Forgiving Maiden in Main Phase 1 and creating a state where you could catch the monster destroyed by battle before it was actually removed from play.
