So cards like Snatch Steal and Heavy Storm are just meta?

Staples are cards that don't lose power, no matter how the format changes.

Meta is the latin root meaning "changing" meaning as the game changes the power of the cards also change.

I guess that's how I look at it?

I think that D.D. Warrior would inpact the Meta, if it was in more availablility...
Also I would have to say that Zaborg has also affected the Meta, he just has reached his brother's level yet.

Right, but they COULD change. I'm not saying it's likely. But, hypothetically, let's say in a few months some UBER-1337 set is announced that has like 60 cards that are ALL more broken than even the envoys and Dark Hole, etc. Now, the Envoys, Heavy, Dark Hole, and the others, are all yesterday's meta. They CAN change, even if I don't anticipate that happening.

So this isnt so much about meta cards, than CC cards?

Personally speaking, in my local meta, most players dont run CC most of the time, so we see a wide variety of things out there. Variations on burn/stall seem to be the most popular at the moment, although frankly anything could crop up

As such, the only cards that are seen in common (i.e. many but not all decks) are MST, Call of the Haunted, SoRL, Dark Hole, Premature Burial and Snatch Steal.
And even then, these are cards that are tended to be recommended to those starting the game as nice 'safe' cards that will help most decks.

Also I would have to say that Zaborg has also affected the Meta, he just has reached his brother's level yet.

Zaborg right now, at least for me, is anti-meta side in SEs, namely thestalos nailing a goldd or a brrow is not fun. DD Warrior would just cause a even greater increase in the current meta card, DD Survivor.
