How's it going...

Just picked up TER today, it states:

As long as this remains face up on the field, other monsters cannot change their battle positions or attack.

Does that mean, my monsters or both mine and my opponents??

Thanks for the quick info...Greg

So you basically said that there is no such thing as a monster that is not an effect monster.
Now you're being plain silly. I said what I said. There is no such thing as a non-effect monster.

You have Monsters "with effect" and Monsters "without effect". A Monster without effect is a Normal Monster within its specific category of Fusion, Ritual, or just plain Normal Yellow Coded Monster.

The rulebook makes no mention of non-effect monsters. It is either an Effect Monster, or it isn't.

I am perfectly willing to call a monster "without effect" a non-effect monster as soon as they make a fifth category.

A. Normal
B. Effect
C. Non-Effect (oh wait, that should be classified as Normal)
D. Ritual
E. Fusion

Yes, just like any other circumstances, if the attacks are eqaul then both are destroyed, if both are zero in this case. Remember though that if TER has a monster equipped though, that monster is destroyed instead.

Read closely.

Yes There are no such things as Non-Effect monsters. But any monster that doesn't have an effect is a non-effect monster. Understand?
I understand completely. I just wanted to illustrate that you already have a term used for Non-Effect monsters.

To me, using the term "Non-Effect Monsters" (Normal) should also encompass Normal Fusion, Ritual, AND Normal Monsters. It would clear up some of the loose terminology.

The problem lies in the fact that, as Densetsu_x pointed out, some effects will ONLY trigger on Yellow Coded Normal monsters, because they are Normal Monsters, "without" summoning requirement.

And who calls them "Normal"? They're non-effect monsters. Monsters without effects. It's like saying non-monster cards, or non-permanent spell cards (i.e. Normal Spell, Ritual Spell, Quick-Play Spell).

Are you sure you're not just arguing because you made an error and don't want to admit it?

There is, in fact, a distinction between Normal Monsters and Non-Effect Monsters. Remember the thread I started with, what I thought at the time was a genuine
conflicting ruling? Turns out I just didn't understand the difference. From the FAQ:

Emissary of the Oasis
A Monster Token is a Normal Monster, but a Ritual Monster without an effect is not a Normal Monster.

Non-Spellcasting Area
The effect of "Non-Spellcasting Area" includes Ritual Monsters and Fusion Monsters that do not have effects, as well as Monster Tokens.
