Three Unique Traps

Today I am going to review three underused but powerful cards that are unique to all other trap cards in the current metagame and how they can be deadly.

Dark Coffin
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
When this face-down card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, your opponent must select and execute 1 of the following effects:
"¢Discard 1 card in his/her hand at random.
"¢Select 1 monster on his/her side of the field and destroy it.
Statue of the Wicked
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
When this card is destroyed and send to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 "wicked Token" (Fiend-Type/Dark/4 Stars/ATK 1000/DEF 1000) in Attack or Defense Position on your side of the field.
Kozaky's Self-Destruct Button
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
Inflict 1000 points of damage to the Life Points of the player who destroyed this Set card.
Three traps with powerful effects if used correctly. But each of these cards have something in common, something that sets them apart from other trap cards. They can activate the turn they are placed.

You see, each of these traps doesn't need to be set for a turn for the effect work as the effect activates from the graveyard, not on the field and they cannot be negated by Jinzo because once they are in the graveyard they are free from Jinzo's continous negating effect. There is also another benefit, you can destroy these traps your self if you choose to, although be careful of Kozaky's Self Destruct Device, don't think you want to be inflicting 1000 points of damage to yourself. All three of the cards can fall victim to Nobleman of Extermination since the cards are removed from play their effects cannot activate.

On the plus side, these traps are very worthy of consideration for a deck being built. A lot of players I come across normally set Mystical Space Typhoon and try to activate it on the turn you set a Spell/Trap. They will certainly regret doing that when they find out they have destroyed one of the above 3 and to boot have wasted a valuable card as well. Consider these for your decks in the current metagame, you never know how useful they can be.

I like these three cards. They're all a waste of your opponent's Heavy Storm, Mystical Space Typhoon, Breaker the Magical Warrior, what have you. Dark Coffin is definitely my favorite out of all of them, then Statue of the Wicked, then Kozaky's Self Destruct Button. Dark Coffin provides the biggest advantage though. The good part about Statue is that you get a token that you can tribute. Running these in traditional is a good idea with Harpie's Feather Duster and what not. People don't use them much, though, because they are slow to activate. Still, I like them.

They can be slow, but very useful. Best play I find is with Giant Trunade in the deck and to save them before setting another card, unless your opponent can pick up what you are planning quickly. Although the cards are slow in terms of getting their effect, they are definatly worth trying.

Very impressive and underated cards.

The only 1 of the 3 I don't find as useful is Dark Coffin.

Only that:
- Your opponent chooses which of the effects is to be used, sometimes it can be a good thing for them. Night Assailants or destroying their own Vampire Lord for Card of Safe Return or Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys to finally destroys Swords of Revealing Light.

The cards enlisted are heavily played down here, I just don't see Dark Coffin.

Got a Airknight Parshath in your hand but no tribute? Heavy Storm for safety of the summon and have Wicked Token Special Summoned via Statue of the Wicked, then BAM! Tribute, attack and draw a card. :D

Kozaky's Self-Destruct Button is one those card you could have set from the first of the duel, and have them completely guessing at what it is, until they use Mystical Space Typhoon, Heavy Storm, or Breaker the Magical Warrior, inflict 1000. The only dowside is that if you end up destroying it, you take the 1000, but hey... sometimes that can be a good thing too! ;)

I like the idea of cards that are still practical and can still be deadly in way if used right. Good review.

personaly i like these and think it would be fun to make a deck around them any ideas would be appreciated pm me if you have any
