Hi..

Anyone how about it??

Can a TO forbid sell and change of cards on you Tournament???

On Brazil these thing are happining because the store sell boosters and the players can't sell or change your cards.

Can he do this???

If yes or not, please show me on the UDE Rules where i found some about that..

Thanks for all

If you are attempting to make card sales while playing in a Tournament in a actual Store or establishment, the owner doesnt need UDE policy to forbid it. You're attempting to sell goods in his store without a permit or license. Not to mention, you are taking money out of his pocket, so to say.

That's Ok.. But on a National Tournament, where the players are gifted with the presence.. Can he do this?? I Think this wrong..

Yes they can. They are paying for the space for the event. They usually get vendors to come in and sell product and charge them a booth fee. If I were to just start selling cards there it would make the vendor feel cheated. Most tournament organisers that I know of forbid selling of cards while at the event. Trading is still fine.

On the trading note, depending on how serious thefts have gotten at event sites, TO can also make the decision to have no trading allowed at all. This is after all THEIR event that they are paying for for you guys to get to nationals.

They can and it's completely legal through the UDE Tournament Policy.

A TO has the authority to set up any sort of rules or regulations they see fit when running their tournaments. It's a norm actually for most PTO's (TO's that do Premier Events such as regionals and what not) to forbid the selling or trading of cards for cash at events.

One of the more prominant reasons is due to the fact that at these events you'll normally see vendors who are selling singles. If a vendor is there then that means that they paid a hefty price to rent out that spot for the day and should be given priority for all sells of singles. TO's protect their vendors business by making it against the rules to sell cards on the floor so that people have to buy/sell cards from/to the vendors instead.

I know that we at Star City Games have had a policy such as this for years now and the vendors we have are pretty fair when it comes to prices and negotiations so there is no reason why you shouldn't buy from them.

Keep in mind that trading a card for another card is still fine. It's the exchange of cash that they wish to hault, so you can still have a fair and enjoyable tournament experience with such a policy in place.
