It doesn't have to be exact.Maruno said:Are you sure you mean you want a 2:1 ratio between Monsters and Spell/Traps? That means you have 27 Monster Cards and 13 Spell/Trap Cards in your Deck (which splits down to perhaps 8 Spells and 5 Traps).
My Alien deck is 23:17 (9 spells, 8 traps), but thats because I have no other monsters that will fit. But still going thru a few random opening draws seem to draw at least 1 monster everytime.
But how many spells are worth activating if you have no monsters on the field and/or the opponent has none?Maruno said:Monsters are restrictive, in that you most often have to Summon them to get any kind of use out of them, and you're only allowed 1 Normal Summon or Set per turn. And that's slow. Spell and Trap Cards, you can activate as many as you like per turn.
What about traps, what's the point of setting traps with out putting a monster out. One good spell/trap and they're gone.
But is that a good thing, just because its tradition?Maruno said:Traditionally, the ratio is 20:12:8 for Monsters:Spells:Traps (i.e. same number of Monsters as there are Spells and Traps combined). You can play around with the numbers a little, but it's the kind of thing most players aim for.
Again I am just trying to think up ways to get the best draw. This 2:1 ratio seems to work, the deck would need to be planned around this thou.
