Trample effects and trample equips.

Okay, since we know that I can equip my opponents monster with Fairy Meteor Crush and he'll take all the damage for killing one of my poor little defense position scapegoats. I wanted to clarify this scenario.

Player A has Airknight Parshath on the field.
Player B has equipped that Airknight with Fairy Meteor Crush.
Player A attacks Player B's def position scapegoat.

Will both players receive battle damage? I believe so because Airknight will trample with his own effect and Fairy Meteor will inflict back upon the opponent.

O.K. with that (yes the dragon can think out side the box) now that I get it will this work?
would the opponents or the opponents life points take all the damaga if I have in play "Spirit Barrier"
one monster on the field in def. position and the opponents "Airknight" attack ??????????????

Just to add this to the original question...

Okay then, here is a similar question:  If I equip an opponents Enraged Battle Ox with FMC, then is the effect applied both ways or would one effect resolve over the other.

Answer:

Somehow the original message met with a grusome fate.

The effect of "Enraged Battle Ox" wins. You would receive the Battle Damage.

Which would mean that equipping an opponent's Airknight Parshath with a Fairy Meteor Crush or similar card would have no effect on who takes the damage.

I'm not sure when that was answered on the mailing list or what the entire context is since it looks like parts are missing.

This however is from the FAQ

"¢ If you equip your "Fairy Meteor Crush" to an opponent's monster, and it attacks a Defense Position monster on your side of the field with ATK greater than your monster's DEF, the opponent will take the difference as Battle Damage. This is because "your opponent" is the opponent of the player who controls "Fairy Meteor Crush" not necessarily the opponent of the player who controls the monster.

That overrides everything else. Ignore the fact whether or not the monster has trample for a moment. This ruling basically says that if you do this, they take the damage. That's it. Now if the monster has trample as well, then you're going to take some damage too.
