Trap of Board Eraser

I searched but couldn't find a good, solid answer.

I have activated and resolved Dark Snake Syndrome. My opponent finishes his turn and then i get to my standby phase where DSS activates and we both take damage from its effect. Can I activate Tra of Board Eraser at this point to negate the damage to my LP's and make him discard a card? Previous information pointed me to Barrel Behind the Door which I know you cannot use BBTD when an effect has already resolves similar to Wave Motion Cannon. How exactly could this work if it does at all?

[Re: Barrel Behind the Door] You cannot activate "Barrel Behind the Door" against a Continuous Spell or Trap Card, an Equip Spell Card, or a Field Spell Card. So you cannot activate it against "Magical Thorn", "Dark Snake Syndrome", "Wave-Motion Cannon", or "Black Pendant".

In all cases regarding whether the activation is legal BBtD and ToBE have identical rulings so you cannot use ToBE against the damage from Dark Snake Syndrome.

As the rulings mention and you have as well, it points to the same effect as Barrel Behind the Door. Which I would think would mean you cannot chain to a continous effect.

You cannot use Trap of Board Eraser since you cannot use that against a continuous effect. All rulings for Barrel Behind the Door apply to Trap of Board Eraser with the added addition that your opponent must have at least 1 card in hand in order to activate Trap of Board Eraser.
