Triggered effects starting a new chain

I had this situation come up:

My opponent flip summons Golem Sentry.
Golem Sentry's effect is activated, and he targets my attack position Dream Clown.
I chain Zero Gravity.

Zero Gravity resolves, and my Dream Clown is changed to defense position, triggering its effect.
Golem Sentry's effect resolves, returning Dream Clown to my hand.
Now I am inclined to believe that Dream Clown's effect starts a new chain, but I'm not sure.

Dream Clown doesn't need to be on the field to resolve, so it will start a new chain.

Alright, another question.

If you have a monster with the effect "You can flip this monster into face-down defense position once per turn" in face-up defense position from the start of your turn, can you activate its effect to flip it face-down, then flip summon it, then activate its effect to flip it into face-down defense position again? That seems like the kind of effect that would be reset when it is flipped face-down.

If it started out in face-up Defence Position, then yes you can use the effect flip it face-down and then Flip Summon it in the same turn.

It is not considered a position change if you go from face-up Defence to face-down Defence Position and vice-versa.

I know that much already, I'm asking if after flipping it face-down then flip summoning it, you can still activate its effect to flip it face-down.

Sorry misread.

The effect states "Once per turn"

It literally means once per turn, so the answer is no.

No you can only use that effect once per turn.

It's one of those effects that is based on the face-up/face-down orientations to gain it's efffect. And that's different from monsters that rely only on the face-up orientation to gain there effects. Their the only ones that get thier effects reset when flipped face-down.
