Tsukuyomi DCR-075

Tsukuyomi
Spirit Monster (Spellcaster / DARK / 4 Stars / ATK 1100 / DEF 1400)

This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that it is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. When this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or flipped face-up, flip 1 face-up monster on the field into face-down Defense Position.

As I hinted out yesterday, this is the Spirit Monster that skilled Duelists use. It is a free "Book of Moon" effect that can be re-used over and over. She can be used defensively to flip your opponent's monster down for an easy kill or offensively to recycle the flip effects of your own monsters. She has great flexibility and comboability and can create locks of her own. But as mentioned, it takes a bit of skill and planning in order to use her effect to the fullest. Hands down though, she is the best Spirit monster of the lot (at least that won't make you look like a no-hack talent by relying upon an easy 1 trick pony that should be stuffed into the oven and served up for Thanksgiving Dinner).

I'm always looking for devious ways to use Ultimate Offering. I never thought about the combo with this monster before :)

I was remember when I was the first person on my block to have a Tsukuyomi. Man, everyone hated dueling me :D I've been using her ever since Dark Crisis was released, and I refuse to trade her. She's just too versatile to let go of.

I use her in my Fiend deck and you're exactly right, it is so nasty, takes a bit of timing, but is so helpful! Its so fun to see the look on their face when you use her to flip down their Jinzo and then pummel it.

I'm in the initial phases of working a Inferno Hammer/Tsuyukomi deck to have fun beating people down with face down monsters. 8^D

I use it in my Hand Disruption Deck to return "Card Destruction" to my hand, by flipping Magician of Faith face-down and hitting it with a Book or Taiyou, while I have another MoF waiting in the wings. I just need a Needleworm to make it all come together!!!!!

that mini yata effect is preaty good.

it takes major planing if your doing it with Time seal but if you do it with drop off the only draw back is knocking down an opponents sinister serpent.

for some reason i figure the combo has been posted but just in case a few heads out there dont know.

Its Tsukuyomi, Mask of Darkness, Drop off or Time seal (team seal, being the most skilled version of the lock)

It trully makes you use your timing. you get your timing off and its over.

i like this card. a lot. when i first pulled it, i was kinda resentful i didnt pull like, reflect bounder or dd warrior lady. stupidly, i simply tossed it into my binder. but now... oh now:

with the banishment of the control deck, and soon the chaos deck (crosses fingers for BLS to be banned), this card has risen to the point of "really good card". book of moon has a few upper hands to it as to that can be used during your opponents turn, but this card can be used more than book of moon can. its stats are decent enough for todays meta, and it sure beats otohime. (otohime is to tsukuyomi as enemy controller is to book of moon.... sorta) overall, a very nice card with some very nice combos and uses. perfect for spirit decks that dont want to tribute 2 monsters for hino-kagu-tsuchi again.

artwork: im liking the orb thingy... and the blueish hair... gotta have blue hair!
