Ultimate Offering

This is a realy old one but still it bugs my mind. Many so called professionals say that Ultimate Offering can only be used in the player's turn. This means that according to the so called professionals, I cannot extra normal summon or set during my opponents turn. Then why is this a trap card?
Can I use the effect in my opponent's turn?

If so, it would be better called a special summone, right?

Generally its a SpellSpeed 2 Effekt that can be used in either players turn. But according to the correct card-text it is limited to your own MainPhase 1+2 and your opponents BattlePhase.

It's in my Errata's That Make Sense thread. And a few others that deal with Ulimate Offering but it bears repeating. It should read:

At the cost of 500 Life Points per monster, you are allowed an extra Normal Summon or Set. This effect can only be used during your Main Phase or your opponent's Battle Phase.

How hard would a simple errata be in the errata booklet. How long has this card been around now?

Geez, since the Original Starter Decks. As controversial as this card is, I mean the text is HORRIBLE, the only way this card can be ruled effectively is if ALL Judges are familiar with the Rulings from the old Netrepâ„¢ Files, Yahoo Judges List, or the new Judge List.

Otherwise, there's no argument against "A player" is allowed... as both players are "A Player".

Yeah, and they refuse to post a ruling in the FAQ. The only way anyone would ever know this effect is if they look it up on the Judges List. But a new player looking at this at first glance would totaly misinterpret it. And folks just don't commonly know where to refer people for this "ruling".
