had a brain fart... sigh
p1 has a grandmaster equipped with a spirit of the six samurai and declares an attack..
p2 has a face up dimensional fissure and responds with a previously set dimensional prison,
no response - so grandmaster get removed from play...does the unoin monster (spirit is being treated as an equip) go to graveyard or rfp?

Neither....Spirit of the Six Samurai is destroyed instead of Grandmaster and Spirit gets removed from play. Grandmaster is left by itself on the field.

Spirit goes to the grave as grandmaster was never destroyed but simply removed from play. In this instance its game mechanics that take over so while spirit is treated as an equip he is bound by their rules.

Spirit of the Six Samurai prevents Grandmaster from being destroyed and removed from play. When a monster attacks and Dimensional Prison is activated, you can't remove the monster from play off the field without it being destroyed.

Activate only when your opponent declares an attack. Remove from play the attacking monster.

Where in that do you see the word destroy? Its the same as if grandmaster hits into a dd warrior/ lady/ assailant. Its removal without destruction. The d fissure in this case is absolutely meaningless.
