vampire lord

a scenario: My turn--> I attack with my v-lord the opponents man eater bug.. my v-lord gets destroyed. I end my turn.
Opponent: reborns my V-lord.. attacks, dont know what else...

question: does v-lord from the opponents side of the field return to the my side in my standby phase?  (probably not I guess)
what happens with v-lord after he gets destroyed on the opponents side of the field? can I special summon him (if he is destroyed by a card effect and not a battle) ?

Vampire Lord must be on the owner's side of the field and destroyed by an opponent's effect in order for him to be able to return at your next standby phase. Should Vampire Lord be special summoned by your opponent and you're unable to use his effect in your next standby phase....then you've lost your window of opportunity.

another question about vampire lord
if vampire lord is discarded by spirit reaper's or don zaloog's effect
will he come back or not i know that discarded means not destroyed but at the end it is the same result
so i ask thank you

yes, even when Vampire Lord is sent directly from your hand to the graveyard, his effect applies.

man, i remember this one duel, i activated drop off when my opponent drew a card, it was Vampire Lord :argh:

den he special summoned it, and sacrifices it for jinzo and stopped my Nightmare Wheel.................... :bishop: YYYYY lol

Whoaaaaa...  If Vampire Lord is discarded or sent to the Graveyard, that is not the same as destroyed and he would not come back during the next turn.

You basically let your opponent cheat you from Drop Off.

Vampire Lord must be "Destroyed", if he is "Destroyed" in your hand or in your deck then he would come back in your next Standby Phase. But simply being discarded does not work.

masterwoo0, are you serious?

I mean I can't see why Vampire Lord wouldn't be special summoned right when the Stanby Phase occurs if he was discarded by the effect of my Drop Off.

- Draw Phase, they draw 1 card.
- In response, I activate Drop Off to his newly drawn card.
- After my Drop Off resolves, nothing else is played and the Standby Phase occurs, and Vampire Lord is special summoned.... isn't it?

I check out Netrep, and you guys were correct. I really need to update, my memory is faint yet I can still remember a ruling I once seen, and it was on Netrep at Card Registry. I maybe hallcunating, but dont mind me.

The ruling I remeber seeing was, "If your opponent discards "Vampire Lord" directly from your hand to graveyard, he will be special summoned by his effect...." so i thought Konami was making Vampire Lord more interesting by giving him the ability similar to Fear from the Dark.

Is this a misunderstanding because the fact is this is an old ruling, or did that rule never existed at all?

well the changing in rullings comes very often, so if you did see it once, then prolly it did exist sometime ago. but now it doesnt cause we are more knowledgable on what can destroy and what just sends things to the graveyard.
