Van'Dalgyon vs Torrential Tribute

If i use Divine Wraith to negate an effect and then i spc summon Van'Dalgyon and my opponent activates torrential tribute to destroy Van...does his efffect of spawning a monster from the grave activate after torrential tribute resolves as a seperate chain or does the monster hit the field during the torrential effect of destroying all monsters



ps - the monster being spawned from the grave is jinzo

"Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord's" Special Summon effect starts a new Chain. After it is successfully Special Summoned, it will start a second Chain when it activates its "Special Summon 1 monster from your Graveyard" effect.

yea...but will the second chain go after torrential tribute or will jinzo hit the field and negate torrential tribute?

The second chain will wait until the current chain ends, so Torrential would blow up the field, the current chain ends, Jinzo gets summoned in a completely new chain.

Van'Dalgyon actually has to be Summoned first, before Torrential Tribute can be activated. So it'll certainly be on the field when it's destroyed, so it will Summon another monster.


First Chain : In here, you trigger Van'Dalgyon's effect to Special Summon it.

Second Chain : Chain Link 1 - The Summon of Van'Dalgyon. After this, it's been Summoned successfully.

Third Chain : This Chain is the one that responds to the successful Summon of a monster (Van'Dalgyon). Chain Link 1 - Van'Dalgyon's effect to Special Summon another monster. Chain Link 2 - Torrential Tribute. Resolving: All monsters destroyed, then the Special Summon (of Jinzo, apparently).
