Ive been lookn for fiends that will give me more control in my Fiend deck, I know its an oldie but is it still an goodie???

Plz help guys with ides

This card IS, WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE... a pretty decent card. It definitely helps with field control. I would pack 2 of these in a fiend deck as it seems to keep your opponent OFF THE FIELD... then use something like DD Designator to get rid of that monster... (Bye Bye Jinzo or BLS).. ya .. I dont like those 2 at all, but its a good way to get rid of the biggins in a pinch.

Just dont let it get attacked by a Dark Ruler Ha Des...

It was amazing until Gemini Elf came out, then your opponent could destroy it at only the cost of the summon.

Although there's Berserk Gorrila and the Chaos Duo, Beatdown isn'tt as rampant now. Low level Warriors and other monsters that get Under Gravity Bind are in. Wall of illusion goes back to its Card Advantage days.

However, once the Deck Destruction card come out in FET, wall of illusion might not even be able to hit the field. It's a card that will always be around, and is always Wonderful in Casual duels, but the metagame can hurt it.

The best is when your opponent summons and then attacks this thing face down. Try not to smile too much when this happens, mwahahaha.

Run 2 in a Fiend deck for sure along with cards like maybe Newdoria, Kryuel, Dark Jeroid, and Night Assailant for more field control.

Heck it may even have places in other decks emphasizing field control. And it's Dark, so that's good for Chaos.

An oldie but a goodie if you ask me.

One of the cards in my first starter deck I really liked: your opponent attacks (back then with a BEWD, today with some Envoy of something or a LV 7 or 8-monster, imagine that) and you smile because he just got an actually much stronger and hard-to-summon monster back to his hand.

But then, why not use Penguin Soldier? One more monster can be returned, you do not have to do this, you can return your own monsters back to your hand (for whatever reason, be it for Muka-Muka or a Sinister Serpent you want to discard now but had to put on the field for defense earlier or an Exodia piece that fell on the field :D and so on), and you don't have to be attacked for this, you can also flip him during your turn.

WoI is DARK, and a fiend, so it will fit into these decks, as it is the desired monster type with a at least good effect, while Penguin is used in WATER-decks mainly.

The only not-deck-type-dependent advantages I see is 1. the higher DEF, which still only resists monsters up to Mechanical Chaser without help. Still better to have a WoI attacked with Dark Driceratops or a Fairy Meteot Crush monster than the Penguin, though. And 2. the effect not being a Flip-Effect, so Special Summoning in DEF position makes sense.

Fun to use. Concerning the many stronger and more versatile cards out there (who wants to wait until he's attacked to use an effect) and rarely more than 45 cards in a deck, and only 20 monsters among them, surely not for everydays use, but mainly for 1. fun or 2. fiend or 3. field control (2.+3.:where it fits best and where I only would play it, but in these WoI is a card worth being in the deck).

Wall of Illusion is my ALL TIME FAVORITE fiend card there is! Yes, I know the Dark Ruler himself is quite buff, but let's face it, this card has so much versatility to it that its insane!

1850 defense means that it will stop most basic attackers that are out "probing" for face down monsters.

Its effect means that even if it is destroyed, that tribute monster goes back to the hand, requiring a retribute. Even nastier is the fact that if a Ritual is put back into the hand, they have to re-ritual it, which odds are it won't happen since the spell card is gone.

But even nastier than that are three spell cards you can boost WoI with:

Axe of Despair - Turns WoI into a legitimate 2000 attacker in which your opponent is STILL going to get the bump in order to take it out.

Shift - Your opponent things they have things into the bag until they are forced over to your WoI for the bump nasty

... but wait, the ultimate is...

Heart of Clear Water - Now you have a permanent recursive bumper. They keep hitting and keep going back up to the hand with no end in sight.

So there ya have it, and why my avatar is, and probably forever will be, the good 'ol wall 8^D

I guess i have been deglecting this little beauty (plz punish me Dark Necrofear!!!!) I will be stick 2 of these in my deck for more control

Wall of Illusion in the Online Meta

In the Yu-Gi-Oh Online meta, Wall is one of the starter cards and maybe the best, next to Summoned Skull anyway. Getting 2 or more in your deck in the current environment there is a huge plus. Speaking of YGO, I know a lot of folks really hate it, but for someone like me who has been dueling for only about 6 months or so, it's like a time warp that lets us relive the early days of the game. I am really enjoying it, but I don't know if I will pay for it when that time comes, probably not. Anyway, to bring this back on-topic, Wall of Illusion has become one of my favorites too.

When facing an opponents Wall of Illusion, you can attack it with a GAF or Giant Orc or even a Spear Dragon and be able to attack with it the next turn. Wall dies, opponent takes damage, and (GAF, Orc, Spear) return to your hand ready to be re-summoned on the next turn. Good for you, bad for the player of Wall of Illusion.

A few possibilities:

why use wall of illusion when you can use legendary jujitsu master?
a. You are running a Fiend deck
b. 1850 DEF vs. 1800 DEF
c. Effect triggers in Attack or Defense position
d. D.D. Designator
e. Des Koala
f. Secret Barrel

the wall

even though this card is old, i think it still has a place in most decks. it requires no tribute, and it will send the attacking monster back to the owners hand.

i really hate when i tribute summon a monster, attack the face down monster, then find out it is a wall of illusion.l
